Evertons finances are appalling and their recent signings are utter tosh. I'm surprised they're actually signing players.
Just wasted 6 minutes reading not an awful lot. For what it’s worth we seem to be signing a lot of 16 years olds with massive potential. Maybe soon we will be using our own youth team players coming through. That would be good.
We’re signing no more, and in fact considerably less, than the teams we’re trying to catch. Most of the ones we’re signing are being let go by their current clubs. The NE media do have a propensity to micro analyse the things we’re doing and whilst it’s considerably better than under Ashley, it’s a long way from ground breaking. We’ve still got Steve Harper in charge of academy, and Shola overseeing loans. Apart from poaching Ashworth - who couldn’t get to Man U quick enough - I’ve not seen a vast amount of ambition. We’ve just kind of caught up.
I agree with the harper and Shola thing I can’t understand why we are not employing the best people to do things. But recruitment has been good and i genuinely think this window might surprise a few. I actually think we can’t really lose right now. The emphasis in the first three years was to steady the ship and move on. We are now there. Howe simply has to deliver and if he has as much say as we think he does then let’s see what happens.
I also agree with Roland about the lack of decent appointments at the club. We are still a bit barebones. Like we still haven't appointed a DOF which is silly. But I think signings overall have been good. We have gone from bottom three to consecutive top 10 finishes.
As for zero money for 2 years?????? 21/22 losses are now chalked off we now into 22/23 £74.1m loss 23/24 not done (surely profit) 24/25 this year
You have been paying wages to Ashcroft to prune his roses, now he is gone you should be able to replace him.
