Came across very well. That coupled with the 'let It be' chant has convinced me we're definitely going up and unbeaten
They allegedly loved that other coach we had who used to play for Boro (glad I can't remember his name). Wouldn't mind a tough guy coach for a change who might get the best out of them!
Don’t get me wrong I’m buzzing about the Rigg news and I’m happy people are feeling a feel good factor again but for me I’m still extremely sceptical, I want it ensured that RLB has the final say on the staff coming in at a minimum and as for signings, I’ll wait and see
Absolutely. There was some news floating about that he was getting some sort of advisor or two. The strange interviews for coaches is a random one. Presser was good mind. Came across great.
That's fair enough mate but I'm not sure you'll get your wish ... ... I doubt any club would ever make that kind of statement.
From the press conference "Hi I am Keith", google translate, "I am the chief fluffer for the Saudi/Jawdi nation" The club need to get that **** banned
Most head coaches/managers come across well enough once you actually hear them speak (as opposed to judging them on gut feel or keyboard warrier poison). That said, I though that was a genuinely good presser. His perspectives were refreshingly free of bullshit, despite the watery questions, and his commitment to youth development is certainly a big plus. All in all a very hopeful start (which is more than can be said for several of his predecessors).
That's bugging me now. I've got his name on the tip of my tongue so to speak, but I just can't get it. I know exactly who you mean though
Brilliant! I can say it like this? He said he’s only been learning English two years (?) How is his vocabulary already better than mine?!
Watching the press conference now and Regis comes across incredibly well. I know the term "Yes Man" has been thrown around a lot, stinking the place up but he feels like someone who will say yes and I am delighted. I'm sick of people coming in knowing full well what the club is about only to turn around and whinge, throw down their tools and take a pay off when they decide they have changed their mind and they don't like it. Sounds like he is positive about the club and the place, about the structure in place and the vision of the higher ups. Seems he is excited about leading a young team, developing players, working with the Sporting Director to build the quality and perhaps the experience in the squad. His English is good, he seems very self assured and quite intelligent. I'm feeling very optimistic.
Comes across really well. engages with the press well. Difficult to say anything else until we see a few games under his leadership, but first impressions are good...
I'm not saying he doesn't. I'm saying he seems positive about working with the club and open about collaborating with staff at all levels.
Keith was hired by Sky on the back of his sterling work sucking up to Sir David Murray at Rangers. His unique brand of sycophantic puff journalism made him a perfect fit for their Newcastle Correspondent. It's not known why he bothers going to Sunderland. Presumably years of wearing his wife's leggings cut off his brain's blood supply.
