I wonder what it would look like if the LibDems became the main opposition? - How effective would Ed Davey be in arguing the toss across the dispatch box from Starmer in the HOC? - How would the Libdems in parliament make the Labour government look? Would they make Labour appear more right of centre or left of centre? And would that actually benefit lLabour with how they're viewed by the electorate?
I thought he had the largest majority ever? Just wondered if labour will have a bigger one than that is all
Yeah don't know mate, they might have mentioned him before I put the tv on maybe - no menshy yet though.
His twitter campaign posts have been tragic at best. Pretty sure whoever runs it for him hates his guts
If I remember my political history correct (and I probably don't) - it was because the Tories got absolutely destroyed in an election in the 19th Century that the Conservative party exists today. Basically the Tory party collapsed and got massacred in an election so badly that they completely disbanded and the new Conservative party took their place as the opposition filling the right-wing gap (although they kept the nickname Tories). If Conservatives do bad enough, wonder if it could kill them again. (and maybe Reform becomes the new Conservative party for the 21st century... which would be ironic since the world Reform has complete opposite meaning to Conserve. Reform would have to adapt to be more mainstream if they ever wanted to hold government though)
Not going to happen. Btw I actually think all this talk of Labour winning huge and Tories being wiped out will work against Labour tomorrow. Either ppl will stay at home or fewer than expected will vote for them and instead tick the Reform, Libdem or Green box.
Former shuttle captain Mark Kelly would be my choice if I were to choose a democrat that would win comfortably.
Is there a genuine chance of the Tories not being the opposition? Not reading back if already discussed, soz. Assume it would be Lib Dems if so?
Someone did a calculation the other day and came up with about a 10% chance of it happening. That's the quickest summary I can give ye Yes Lib Dems
It's not going to happen. Shame to a certain extent as it may push for a need for proportional representation even if it's a slim chance.
