Whether it is or it isn't, their L1 starting point was a decent championship wage budget. The idea they've done a Luton is ridiculous.
Don’t think they will be paying much more in wages unless they vastly increased what they were paying the lad on loan who they signed for a record fee.
They were paying just shy of £20m in League One, all those players will have got a promotion increase for getting into the Championship and they then signed 13 players for last season (while also letting a load go), several for seven figure fees and several on loan from Premier League clubs. I would expect their wage bill to have been closer to £30m for last season.
Can someone please make this car crash stop? It's the poor fella with a blindfold on, lurching around the centre of the road in the mobility scooter, that is in most danger.
Or just use a credible source in the first place, like an article explaining the published accounts, not an aggregator site using spurious estimates? There is no debate here. Their league 1 wage bill was 19.8 m. You argue black is blue if you want.
Until I see something definitive otherwise that's the figure I recall seeing and I did think it really quite high for L1. And last Jan there were two clubs who went all in during that transfer window ... Ipswich (K Moore) and Hull. It worked for one team but not the other
The posts arguing black is blue with lambo stating the wage bill wasn't 20m. Well it was definitely a gnats cock away so it's a pointless argument.
Google 'ipswich town HMRC" Click on top link and select "filing history" then click on latest set of accounts to download. Open the pdf and it's definitively 19.8m wages for year to june 2023.
You tell me, you're the one trying to make a ridiculous argument based on some dodgy website. If you're accepting it was then why continue?
Different ffp structure in L1 though. That limits wages to a percentage of turnover as opposed to restricting overall losses per se. It limits losses over and above turnover, not spending. You can still spend all your income and then 39m over 3 years beyond that figure as a championship club. So if annual turnover is 30m, then 13m losses PA beyond that, then your spending budget would be 43m in that year, not 13m PA or 39m over 3 years rolling.
You weren't when you agreed with balkan saying lambo had made up the numbers and they could only spend 39m Which is utter bollocks.
STOP. ****ING. BICKERING! I have one 8 year old and a 5 year old and this is like listening to them arguing over Mine-****ing-craft! Give it a ****ing rest!
