David Millar commentating on ITV4 said, the first time he met Cav was in 2006... Cav told him 'I'm the fastest sprinter in the world'... Millar said 'yeah right!!!'...

    Just watching the highlights...

Like watching a rerun of the Wembley play off, still half expecting it not to happen...

Yep, I already knew he’d done it by the time I saw it, but none of the detail, so assumed all the way through watching that his lead out train just kept on going. Then when they dropped off just before the end and he had to find someone else’s wheel it was heart in mouth stuff, but like watching the clock go back 10 years at least to him at his absolute peak.

    As you say, chapeau

    Just watched the highlights .
That was some tight squeeze to get through to the win .
He looked like he was 26 again

Never in doubt. That's the first sprint he's contested this tour and he won it with ease.

Just maybe he isn't finished yet.

It makes you wonder how many he would have won had he not had to drop out of Tours through injury !
    Probably 50 ?

Great achievement, I always watch the tour on ITV, usually the highlights, and to see Cav break the record for most stage wins really tops off an incredible career.

Good to see a Tour De France thread on here. Really. enjoyed watching the Giro and up to now this has been an exciting Tour. Way more exciting than watching England in the Euros.

Edit Whoops did not see that we have a Tour de France thread already.
