    Nobody wants to know.

The stewards won't go near the sections. It's thst simple

The German police are not interested one bit.

If this were in England there would be hell to pay.

It's all very well fining national associations, but the host country is responsible for providing reasonable security measures to ensure safety for the people on and off the pitch.
Last night the Turkish players had to appeal to their own fans to stop chucking things at the Austrians after Sabitzer was hit by something.

It's this simple. They have a choice and a reason why grounds in Turkey have screens and barriers.

    Player is hit, player drops.

Ref stops play and removes players.

    Announcement is made

    Game.resuems and incidents happen again.

Ref stops game and awards walkover.

You'd be amazed how one incidence like this would then stop it happening.

But they won't and thry will let it occur and this is normal behaviour in half of Europe.

To be honest: No idea. Maybe the stewards are keeping the cups and cashing them in after the game?

To the final to get beaten by Spain.. sure, why not. That'll be a good game.

The Swiss really stand out as minnows:bandit:

No excuses for England this. The other side of the draw had 4 real European power houses.

The Swiss taking out Italy was great for us.

My prediction - England get knocked out in semis. Is it looking likely or can they make it to the final? I haven’t watched other games so don’t know if Switzerland and Netherlands / Turkey have shown that they will be tough to beat.

It’s a pity that Spain v Germany is a QF, would have made a good final.

It's going to be good. I think it not being a final removes a bit of pressure and it could be a better game hopefully.

Both sides have to be direct and use their wide men. We also won't see the cynical stuff we've seen from some of the sides with the fouling.

I'm hopeful it will be the game of the tournament.

I thought before thst home advantage would see Germany though but Spain have been too good so far.

Yeah but I can see it being **** housing.

For me France have the same issue as England. Deschamps has success initially but he's playing very very narrow now and looks a bit of a dinosaur in tactics.

He's french and they wont replace with anyone but French so will struggle.

    Think about engurlund.

Eriksen did well. Other teams were just better.
Mclaren was a disaster but put in cos he was english
Capello was negative as well. Teams were better but not by as much.
After that there was a big he must be English thing.
    Pearce caretaker
Hodgson, negative and dreary. Wasted talent that was getting better but not quite enough
Then the allardyce embarrassment. Again English
Then Southgate who was English as his sole qualification. He was even **** at u21 level.

2018. England were not the best side, they were OK so sf looked great.
2020/21 at home and imo one of the best sides bar France. Final was a disappointment but it was at home. Put that as away tournament and England d go out early
2022. Very dull amd England has as good a side as any imo. Massive failure.
2024 ? Again one of favourites but probably now in transition. With defence issues capable and kane ages but young attacking talent. Very very very very dull.

If you gave this squad to say carlo anchelotti what would he do with it?

Conversely give it to koeman (netherlands) deschamps (france) or even martinez (belgium) would the be any more positive? Probably not.

Would they be better? Absolutely yes

Southgate knows himself this is one too long in job. He knew it but stayed on so has probably cooked his chances at a club job

    Spain beat France in Semis.
    Turkey beat England in Semis.

Turkey beat Spain in Finals! (maybe not, but, I'll cross my fingers on that one)

He'll walk into a club job - maybe not one of the biggest. Since when has constant failure and anti-football precluded anyone from doing the rounds?

I’m with saint on this. I think clubs would be queuing up for Southgate simply because he’s a ‘name’ now having managed England. As saint said, performances, results, tactics etc etc don’t appear to matter to the clubs who are willing to appoint one of the merry-go-round managers.

I think Capello was pretty good as a manager he didn't have the most exciting brand of football, but he knew what he was doing. Letting Capello go was a big mistake. Neither of Englands best two recent managers were English.

I don't think Southgate is a good manager by any stretch of the imagination... I also don't think he's AS bad as many claim. I certainly wouldn't want him anywhere near Liverpool*. Compared to Mclaren, or Pearce, or Hodgson, Allardyce though... he's probably better or equal to any of them.

If I had to pick my main problem with Southgate, it isn't that he's boring, (hard to care he's boring when I can't watch many games anyway) it's that he plays people out of position to get his preferred players on the field. He picks who he thinks are the best XI... instead of the best player for each of the 11 positions.

The biggest problem with the FA sacking Southgate would be, I don't trust them to pick anyone better... they don't typically pick great managers.

*.... well... near Liverpool is OK... he can manage Everton, or United, or Wigan... I'm OK with any of that..

Potter might do a good job. His tactics are more up to date to start with ....... and he’d look great in a waistcoat. <whistle>

Alf Ramsey said "I don't pick the best players, I pick the best team".
A simple principle many national managers fail to grasp.

England training to play a back 3

Stones strapped up on his knee.

    No word on trippier.

This means trent who played rwb only once and was immediately hauled off by Southgate is being set up as the scapegoat is likely to start and Mr I'm not a left full saka may be told to play. Leb.
