It could also be seen as a positive sign to the new manager, if it was true that he was waiting to see who the new manager was before he signed? Must have impressed him with his initial thoughts/ideas.
Anyone expecting more than 2 isn't realistic. This lad is on a trajectory right to the very top and he'll outgrow us even if we got promoted. We'll get to enjoy him breaking through though and then earn a big fee when he moves on to Dortmund, Man Utd or whoever. I look forward to the next World Cup when we're arguing about whether Mainoo or Rice should partner Rigg in midfield. It's a huge deal for us.
My short sleeve shirt gets delivered tomorrow but think i’ll also get a long sleeved one, as the more i see it the more i like it.
The mags are really wound up by Rigg signing his pro deal. They're at lengths to either say he's ****e and wouldn't get into their academy OR that they'll sign him whenever they want (even though he's ****e) etc
They are obsessed with the fact he supports them, completely forgetting we have a rich history of geordies playing for us and being fully accepted as long as their support for them is left at the door. He may be a mag but he and his family still chose us because they are ****e, and always have been, at developing talent.
I would really like us to take a risk on Langstaff. He’s a natural goalscorer the league is irrelevant. I think he’s one of those that’ll just score and score no matter the league. To be able to sign a striker that has a load of goals to his name is what we need this summer
Been to a few county games last season, he’s a handful and a very good finisher, wouldn’t be a bad option to look at
I don’t know enough about him but league’s do make a difference. Every step up there is a step up in the quality of defenders. Some forwards can cope and some can’t
…couldn’t disagree more there. The league definitely matters. All well and good banging them in at L2 level and below. Championship is completely different.
The amount of goals he has scored show he’s a natural goalscorer imo. 28 in 39 - 21/22 in NL/S 42 in 47 - 22/23 in NL 28 in 46 - 23/24 in L2
He may well be but I highly doubt the club will be going after a 27 y/o who hasn’t scored above L2 level.
Say we sign on 3 year contract plus option he’ll be 30 by time to sell. Only going down in resale value and we’d be buying at peak. Doesn’t make financial sense if there are alternatives out there.
28 in 39 in NL/s 42 in 47 in NL 28 in 46 in L2 13 in 46 in L1 6 in 40 in Championship 1 in 33 in Premiership
I don’t think he’s worth the risk personally. It’s a huge jump to the championship from where he’s been previously.
