Always the case,I got shot of all my social media and life is so much simpler without a load of walapers going on and on

 

Got rid of every social media account I had about eight years ago now. You are right, life is so much simpler without it. It was a bit like losing a body part initially but once I got used to it, a whole new world, the real world, became clearer again.

 

I don't post or get involved, it's just hilarious seeing the degree of self-entitlement and arrogance.

The bloke I was on with last night argued it was right we’d been knocked back off loads of coaches because he’d read it on FB and X

 

This is my only social media account. I think of it more like the village pub where I am tolerated like the resident idiot

I tried tik tok a month or so back. My sons band do a lot on there and are followed by some decent music folk. Thought I would look in. Lasted a day and deleted my account, completely lost I was.

I have never been on any other. Really dont get it at all. Probably an age thing, but it just doesnt appeal.

I’ll let you into a little secret, as much as I’d love to have a TikTok account I’ve banned myself for registering. My guilty pleasure is watching funny animal videos and I’d never be off the bloody thing.

Always found that those who don't go to matches - usually cos "they can't get tickets" make their mouths go the most

 

It may be that it's because the 90 minutes is all there is, for them, and they over analyse everything.

People who go have the consolation of the sense of togetherness and the pleasure of seeing friends, having a pint and being part of something with history and tradition. Perhaps that makes people who don't go feel bitter about the club and those who enjoy the day, sometimes despite the football.

 

I included the son in law in that analogy. He always had to watch Man Utd games on TV until the mags got took over by the Saudis now he's a staunch mag for some reason along with the rest of his family. The grandson is decked or in black and white gear and we went in holiday with them last year. I was winding the grandson up about a black and white top and all of a sudden he came out with "my son will never be a staunch Sunderland fan!". That was it - gloves off! The wife had a go and said about going to games which he came back with the proverbial "can't get tickets". I've heard that so many times from mouthy mags that a switch kicked in and give him a mouthful. Kept away from us after that for a day!

He's a proper premier league fan and that kind of thing seriously annoys me. Yes watch games on TV (and I may be wrong about this - probably am!) but until you actually go to games, get involved with the team you watch - it's never one of those things you can explain, you actually FEEL what it's like to be involved with the club. You don't just support the club, you actually love it then you never really know what it's like to be a fan. I'm trying to get the grandson like me - always said I wouldn't but needs must and he's getting there. He loves going to Sunderland games but he's torn between us, them lot, Hartlepool and Man City!

You've made a schoolboy error there replying to @Grizzled Wanderer. Biting to one of the best fishermen here. We all know relegation was never in the equation, but this poster will argue between night and day, and NEVER find a positive to post for SAFC.
I've NEVER seen a positive post from him, and if he's on the ropes he'll bring up the BCB incident just to bring the conversation down to his level

The bit I never understand is what they're hoping to achieve...

If the club did everything they wanted and said the following things, what would they do (other than call for KLD to spend more or sell and KS to be sacked)?

Le Bris wasn't on our initial shortlist but we couldn't get our top targets.

We probably shouldn't have sacked Mowbray when we did and appointing Beale was worse.

We haven't been up to scratch in the last 2 transfer windows. We couldn't get a good striker in our budget, so we gambled on a few cheaper ones with promise, but it hasn't worked out.

Dodds did a poor job in charge of the first team and in hindsight we'd have hired someone sooner or brought in a temporary manager. We still think he's an excellent coach though and he has a good working relationship with all the players.

We think Jobe is an excellent prospect. We played him last year mainly on merit, but we also know that the pathway is the main reason why we can attract these talented younger players and showcasing that is good for us in the long term and playing is good for Jobe's development.

Be interested to see how he does, 2 promotions on his cv but struggled of late, has a good squad there and they will spend so expect them to be right up there again
