Larios hasn't played a game in nearly 2 years. Ralph was still our manager last time he played a game of football; I'd be amazed if we considered him a realistic option this season and wouldn't be surprised if he went out on loan.
Think he was talking more about the future rather than now. Send Larios out on loan, give Meghoma some cup games and all the u21 games, Taylor first choice, Manning as backup is how I can see it playing out
Really pleased with this signing. Actually nice to sign someone I’ve heard of and seen play more than a couple of times. Great left peg and I remember him crossing a perfect ball on the volley and being taken aback by his technique from the way he looks and the fact he was playing for a Dyche Burnley. Didn’t realize he has played centre back, which adds a bit of flexibility
Reading more about him on some Burnley forums and seems that he excelled under Dyche where he was asked to bomb forward and has a great delivery on him. But was poor under Kompany and some of their fans saying they’ve needed a left back for 18 months as Taylor didn’t fit. Majority seem to rate him overall. Interesting to see how Martin plans to use him as what I think I’m reading is that he is good when he is playing direct but may struggle in more of a possession style game
The stuff I saw seemed to say he is more of a steady Eddie who is focused defensively but isn't as good getting into the final third. Likes to cross/try and play the ball in behind from deeper positions, apparently - which suited Dyche and is why he was signed. Suppose we will find out soon!
Yeah we’ll have to just wait and see, some posts I was reading seemed to indicate that he is suspect defensively, but again going from Dyche (where everyone looks good defensively) to Kompany (where nobody does unless you are a very strong team compared to your opponent, sounds familiar) must’ve been a big culture shock for everyone
