From what I’ve read, this signing is to provide a different option upfront to Tommy & Nakhi, so unlikely a direct replacement.

He turned down a move to Forest though, saying they weren’t big enough, so not sure why he’d be interested in coming to us…… and he might not have the right attitude with comments like that. It also mentions the Japanese player we are chasing is a loan deal with an option to buy.
Recently we’ve been pretty good at only signing good apples, players use many reasons/excuses for not accepting offers from clubs, I wouldn’t read too much into it, I’m sure we won’t sign him if he has a bad attitude.
