I'm warming to us losing Jobe. Which is never good because it usual doesn't happen when you start to get excited. Been thinking if Jobe goes for an astronomical figure, we could get the two free agent lads, giving us an amazing base for promotion to be honest. Rigg and Aouchice battling for the other midfield spot you'd think if we played that way.
Riggy signing pro terms is absolutely class. Clearly he trusts he development pathway here and in turn it rewards the club with being able to command a proper fee wheb he does go.
Absolutely agree. It will get noticed by, and hopefully impress, other young players as well. More signs that we're playing the long term strategy effectively.
£40m for Gray to Spurs https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1807724341754212409?t=JyfIpMXZyKG2r3ctFZ25JQ&s=19
This 'in a separate transaction' thing just doesn't smell right. It feels like an FFP dodge to me. I can't prove it mind.
Im pretty sure it is an FPP dodge, these transactions are all about profit. For Gray Leeds can claim £40million pure profit as he is an academy player. If Rodon was included in the deal he would eat into that due to wages and fees. This is why so many academy kids have moved on, the fee itself is irrelevant it’s the profit that matters.
i know the club are doing good business now with the young lads but i wonder how much influence clarke and roberts have on them, both had big money type moves and both realised that those dreams can turn bad quickly...these lads will talk amongst themselves and the 'been there, done that' lads can offer them an alternative view rather than just looking at the money. i would like the club to find one or two more to replace clarke (if he goes) just to keep that voice around the place...go and be forgotton or realise it is not a good place to be or stay and play and grow your name.
I am too but only because we’d get a sizeable fee which we wouldn’t really get much in terms of compo for Rigg if he was to go. I’m not of the same thought process as some in that we need to force Rigg into the team because he’s a local lad with serious potential, he should have to work for it like the others and from what I seen of him last season I’m not sure he’s ready to walk into that team. Just my uneducated opinion though
similar thoughts here. I’ve got a lot of time for Jobe but out of those likely to bring the big money he’d be the one I was most comfortable with leaving right now.
I think he adds a lot to our team and will do even more so when played centrally. Looking forward to seeing how RLB uses him.
