Don’t like Bellingham’s post-match comments. I’m paraphrasing but he basically said ‘I hope that shuts up some of the fans who have been critical of us this tournament’. We have been absolute dog **** across 4 games. The performances have been well below expectations and we’re lucky to still be in the tournament. A bit of humility wouldn’t go amiss instead of having a pop at people who have spent thousands of pounds to watch them play ****.
Part of my upbringing in the 60's was spent at my old Aunt&Uncles house at 100,Beverley Rd(I think it's an office block called 'Grosvenor House' now).They ran a boarding house for Delapole out-patients.They used to get picked up by a bus in the morning and dropped off at night.. From memory,several of the male lodgers were victims of shell shock from WW11.Obviously they,and others,had huge psychological issues but they were nice people and well looked after,nowadays there's nothing for people with severe mental health issues...A stain on our system for many decades.
Apologies, re-reading my post it did come across far more stroppy than I intended. You're obviously correct about dry heat being better than humid heat, but once you get over 45 degrees, it's simply unbearable. It's like standing in front of a furnace, you can literally feel your skin cooking the minute you walk into it and nobody goes outside when it's that hot.
Stayed in Warkworth a few times. Good places to eat and stroll along the river. Only a short journey by bus to Alnwick and Amble.,Buses from Amble run until 11.40pm. Quite a difference to Brid where there is no bus to Flamborough after about 6pm.
Pickford has been doing his best to drive the crowd(and the players in front of him) throughout our 4 games,credit to him for that.BUT,he then did a stupid rolling around,celebratory type thing before the end of last-nights game and spoiled his previous efforts... We got away with one last-night. At times we laid siege on their goal but simply because we were behind and 'needed' a goal.We got it,then another,then took our foot off the gas?We need to attack this tournament from now on,we could win it but if not we need to at least go out with our heads held high.

The mature thing to do was celebrate with relief and passion and then say after the game ‘we didn’t play our best, we know that, but we’re through to the quarter-finals and now we just need to prepare for the game against Switzerland’. Fantastic place to holiday, especially if you have a dog (beaches). Minds't you, was in Brid yesterday and that deserves far more credit too. Was up Sewerby end down to North promenade. Stunning. Usually do South side and out to Wilsthorpe, Fraisthorpe (Cow Shed). I've been most places in England and I'd honestly say it takes some beating. Just needs the centre to continue to improve!!
