At the end of the day, knockout football is all about the result. But we must be better against the Swiss as they are a good side. Wouldn't mind if we go back to the 3/5 at the back that worked well in 2018 and at the end there. We can't play Trippier another minute in this tournament.
Winds me up seeing them attempt a half arsed dance in front of the crowd. We were lucky and although we are through, there is a lot needs improving
Poor performance but they will say they are through and therefore still have a chance. Might be lucky we didn't play the Netherlands playing like that.
Guehi suspended next match isn't he? Not sure if that makes him less likely to change or more. Mainoo showed that starting him was the correct decision. I'd argue Palmer has earned a start in the next game too.
Toney & Palmer were good when he came on. Mainoo was a solid performer. Taking Trippier off helped a lot. No Guehi v Switzerland, it’ll be interesting what Gareth decides to do.
Thought Toney brought something different they didn’t know how to handle him physical and a good touch.
Gomez would make a back 3 work I think, and the Swiss line up like that so matching them like for like might work. Maybe something like this: Pickford Konsa Stones Gomez Walker Mainoo Rice Saka Palmer Bellingham Kane
Barring injuries whats the odds we start with the same starting 11 next game. Toney was better than Kane and surely a couple of other changes made as a minimum. The Swiss were bloody good. We need to raise our game massively for that in my humble opinion.
A win's a win, but I hope he can make some changes and get them playing better against the Swiss. My nerves can't take another game like that
I don't think I could take watching Walker bombing down the right only to cut in and play it back to Konsa. Walker in the three and Trent RWB.
We absolutely have to drop Tripier, it’s so ridiculous he’s getting a start on the left now that it’s a joke.
Looks good to me. Wouldn't mind either Konsa or Gomez dropping out, Walker going into the 3 and Trent coming onto the right. Either brings balance which is much needed.
