I am going to say that not being involved In anything for 270 minutes is not justified by one great goal. He now needs to contribute.
He has been absolutely **** for 270 minutes. If he had contributed we would not need that goal. Great goal but a god awful performance.
I'm still not convinced we win this, but for now Southgate is a very lucky boy because this is one of the worst tournament performances I can remember by an England manager. Hodgson had bad times in 2014 and 2016, but this England squad is miles ahead of those in terms of active talent and he did absolutely nothing to change this game up. It took a Champions League winner last minute overhead kick to save us for 30 more mins against Slovakia.
Bellingham has come across as frustrated all tournament - so hopefully that goal will help to release that from him. And in his defence, I think I'd be frustrated too if I'd gone from Ancelotti to Southgate.
