Foden far too narrow. Walker far too narrow. Terrible angle of ball played in. Get wide and load that box, turn them on the touch line
Walker won't get in a position to receive it and won't trun to face the opponents so it stays between the cbs. Trippier is giving his all in fairness. He's the only one making any runs.
Tell you what mainoo hasn't moved at all since the 8th minute. Southgate subs. Mainoo off gallagher on. Saka off trent on Foddn off extra cb on
Is it incredibly boring or more incredibly frustrating. What can Southgate possibly be thinking? "Right, weve been ****e for the last 3 matches, I know what will be better, doing the exact same bastard thing" I think mainoo has actually been a bright spot in an otherwise diabolical performance.
The guy stones had got the ball from the flick on. Clearly he wasn’t offside. Stones was marking a guy, left him to go stand next to guehi and his player who went up for a header, was then flicked to guy stones was previously marking and had left. He then ran back over to him which meant was then a big gap for the guy to run into as guehi was slow to get back as he seemed hurt. Stones stands still and the guy flicks it onto stones or at least stones is close enough to put a tackle in and not let him play a little ball through under no pressure
England lose and I expect Southgate to resign tomorrow. Only decent thing to do. This has shades of Hodgson and Iceland. Southgate looks like he's run out of ideas, run his course (frankly it looked that way in the WC, should have gone then)
If he can’t get the team balanced from the start, and they’ve been unbalanced from the opening game what makes you think he has the football IQ to actually change it to get it right?
England just **** scared to play the ball into a player who is marked. They have to play it to an open man which is always a full back or CB.
Foden useless. There was zero need to be offside then. Was a tap in, just stand next to the defender easy to look across the line.
Well offside imo. First time walker faced the right way, first time a forward pass and then the next pass was forward too. Trippier running where he's been running all day.
