You would have thought that with all the “red bull” money coming in, that may not have to sell their prized assets. Brentford might have offered a higher up front fee. Living where I do, my Leeds friends are thinking it will be an asset sale
Still early but it feels like we’ve had some major shifts in the transfer policy. Underwhelmed by many of the links so far in that there are mostly utility and squad players that don’t seem to be much of an improvement on what we have. RM seems intent on building a British squad with none of that fancy foreign flair . Could be linked to the rumours that we had a dressing room divided on race/nationality/language when we got relegated. Still, I don’t think we will survive in the EPL without an injection of quality in key areas.
Lots of contradictory rumours. One is that we are apparently not concerned with 30m for O’Riley (which seems substantially overpriced) and now that we are backing away on £18m for Clarke - which doesn’t seem much more than you’d expect to have to pay for him in terms of percentages Rumours are all over the place
On the Sunderland board they seem confident Patterson is staying, apparently just bought a new house in the area and doesn’t want to up root to probably the furthest possible team from Sunderland domestically. They think Clarke will be off but for north of £20m, no idea who to. Easy link is Palace (like Summerville aswell) as Olise and Eze likely to be off for big money
Spurs are talking to Leeds now, Makes sense. They can offer the same deal plus Rodon who they wany to resign and Skipp too, pn loan to replace Gray. Or possibly just loan gray back to Leeds for a season.
Seems all over the place atm with so much bollocks out there. Spurs supposedly want to include Rodon with a deal with us for Alcaraz. But hey that’s why this is called the rumours thread
