I'm not privy to what the incentives for Hjelde are (officially it is undisclosed) but yes it would usually include things like promotion and appearances.
I’d agree and you are spot on about reputation being greater than ability in fact I’d say the same in nearly all cases involving young players with potential. If Leeds are getting about 40 mill for a lad the same age who managed 0 goals and 1 assist across 47 games then we should be factoring that in given Bellingham had 7 goals and 1 assist in 45 games. not saying for one moment we should be demanding 40 mill but let’s not sell ourselves short.
If you look at t The prices for young academy lads between PL times is eye watering at moment. I would be insisting on 35-40m for Jobe in current market. His brothers stock is so high at moment and he’s not had time yet to prove if he has the same potential either way. His wages will be low enough to make him very attractive, transfer fees are amortised so not a big financial stretch for any PL team.
I think that’s possible as an initial fee or a “ our take” fee factoring in the sell on. Doubt we’d accept that as a fee that has the sell on deduction to be taken out of.
Yeah good shout and £18m at this level wouldn’t be a bad start, millar in for £2m Norwood for nothing then £16m to address other areas
A lot of dubious deals being done by Premier league clubs for academy players or previous cheap buys, as they need to show the "profit" on these deals before the end of the end of the day. They then spend the money which they can then write off over the next 5 years. Does not take Einstein to workout they are inflating these purchase prices as they are just helping each other out. These values will not be the benchmark deals after today unfortunately.
Probably true but I’m sure our own journalists have reported that we’ve slapped a 25-30m valuation on Clarke. Nixon has had a lot wrong this summer already for us and others
I think what these deals will do is hold up the market massively. As clubs like us will look for higher fees that are artificially high.

If we want 18m there would be ****ing hell on with fans like! But I'm calling bullshit we played hard ball on fee for Ross Stewart who had been injured for best part of season, was still injured when sold, the injury was the type you don't know how a player is going to come back (so much so it's rumoured the club took contract offer off the table) and he has spent most his time after the move injured.
I think because the real outlier prices are between the Premier league clubs which need to do the deals at a certain prices to guarantee the profits they need will be ignored once we get tomorrow.
