I was looking at Kasper Schmeichel's stats earlier this evening. Great keeper, it was a pleasure to see him play for the Bluebirds. Don't know what Vinnie would think though, he hasn't scored any goals!
Gary O'Neil played 9 times for City in 2004, scoring once against Millwall. Wish we could have signed him permanently.
Apart from the two occasions when he he was a permanent Bluebird, Chops joined us on loan in 2008 & 2009, scoring 9 goals in 27 appearances. Total Bluebirds goals, 56 in 142 appearances, Not a bad return!
And the most famous of them all, becoming a cult figure in 2008-2009, the one and only Eddie USA Johnson, EDDIE, EDDIE! 30 appearances and two goals.
And from the same season 2008-2009, another player I think most City fans hoped would sign for us, money grabbing Wayne Routledge who chose to sign for QPR instead of taking the deal the Bluebirds had offered. Played 9 games with 2 goals. Went from hero to zero that day and went to sub zero when he later signed for that lot down west. I always liked watching him play though.
Between the sticks 21 times in 2008-2009 was Tom Heaton, who later signed for the Bluebirds for 2010-2012 playing 29 times. Good solid keeper, even played for England 3 times in 2016-17
Danny Drinkwater played for the Bluebirds 9 times in 2010-2011, you could see he was a class player, on loan from Man U. Would have liked to have seen him made permanently a Bluebird
2021-2022 saw Ryan Giles, Cody Drameh and Tommy Doyle all on loan at the City. All exciting in their own ways. Of these most potential to go to great things has to be Tommy Doyle with 19 appearances and 2 goals, but if we could get Cody Drameh, 22 appearances, back at the CCS I would be very happy.
Masky, I agree with you the first three you mentioned, Schmeichel, Ramsey and Bellamy are the best of all the loan players City have signed
Alfie Doughty was okay for us until he got injured. Done well since. How about this one - Junichi Inamoto? 14 games. Also did okay.
