This one is looking closer now... https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.c...-transfer-fee-for-rapid-viennas-fally-mayulu/ https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/fally-mayulu-bristol-city-robins-9374527
I fully understand that with our budget and fears from Lansdown about the FFP that we are forced to look at players from less scouted areas of the football world but there isn't much about this guy who makes me sit up and clap in glee. This could be the signing of the decade but nothing about the way we go about our business fills me with hope for next season but the proof will be in the pudding I suppose.
Exclusive: Rapid Vienna striker Fally Mayulu set for Bristol City medical after deal agreed Bristol City appear to be closing in on an exciting addition https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport.../exclusive-rapid-vienna-striker-fally-9376561
hopefully that is a 4 +1 and does well gets upgraded after 2 years to another 4 +1 ....................
Bristol City: Lee Johnson should always be remembered for getting Leeds United transfer call badly wrong - View https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/b...-got-leeds-united-transfer-wrong-luke-ayling/
Remembered for Ayling........? Everyone on here knows my opinion of Junior, but for me, it was one of the few things he got right.
Let’s not turn a transfer window thread into a LJ debate. We’re on our third manager since he left, let’s leave him in the past eh!
Bristol City may already have a Scott Twine replacement under their nose: View https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/bristol-city-may-already-have-a-scott-twine/
An utter joke if we have anyone in our midst who believes Mehmeti can replace Twine, who is totally off my radar as a long term player for City, and by my reckoning both should not be at Ashton Gate next season due to lack of potential. Twine has to be a better bet than Anis but his expectations, along with Burnley's price, need to be assessed from all angles before another bad decision is made and we end up further from our supposed goal of presenting a better more competitive squad aiming for contention. Precious little is being heard from the club in regard to some of the fringe players that need to be moved on to allow Manning to start to build a team of his liking. Rebuilding is a difficult task at the best of times but I think you need a base of at least 7 players on which to start a new foundation and I really feel we fall way short of having those dynamics already in place because our bench can be our worst enemy and that has to be improved before the next step is possible.
Are we seriously looking for promotion quality players for less than £5m? Sure, there are some diamonds in the rough, but look at how much the likes of Leeds etc spend on players. Unrealistic.
I’m confused, did I miss something?? What did Twine do in his few appearances for us that has gotten everyone salivating so much! I thought he did ok, but not worth the risk of £5m for me based on what I saw last season….
It’s not so much what we saw as a player, more of how the team improved with him in it. I think (and could be wrong) when he played, barring last game we were undefeated with him in it. So as a team we were better with rather than without him.
I don't believe we'll pay £5million for him, closer to the reported fee for the alleged Rapid Vienna signing. For that kind of fee he's definitely a player I'd like to see in our midfield next season.
