The implementation of the laws were agreed before the tournament, so unless you are accusing UEFA of somehow knowing they would go on to benefit Germany, that is nonsense.

The thing with VAR here is that the offside against Andersen was not clear or obvious. It was 20mm of his toes that weren’t even directly involved in the goal. No official spotted it. There was a whole scramble before it got to the net that was nothing to do w the offside player. Level is onside. Changed the whole game. And I have nothing against Germany, I just want to see fair footballl that isn’t all about the referees making microscopic game changing decisions.

 

Offside is not judged on clear and obvious. It is either off or it isn't.
