We’ve been getting absolutely raped on transfers in and out over past two decades. Can’t think of a better description. Several owners and exact same results. The best are sold while lumps like Bamford hang around like a bad smell. At this moment I’m pretty sick of the way we run the club. As lol said what’s the point in having owners with supposed cash
Correct and for umpteenth time they had till tomorrow evening. Why? Gross incompetence of previous owners backed by 49ers in ludicrous purchases and contracts handed out. We’re now paying the price of their in ompetence
Not how it works. Clubs know we need the cash so think if they hold their nerve until the last minute, they can come in and get a good deal. Brentford have been the first to blink. If nobody has made contact until now, what are Leeds supposed to do? Take a few players to a car boot sale? The financial rules that were brought in to 'protect' clubs from owners are the reason we have to sell Gray.
Pissing away 45m on fat Kev 10m on managers severance pay having to loan out dross without being able to recoup virtually anything is the real reason Archie has been sold. You can plaster over that anyway you want buts that’s the reason. Gross incompetence playing Russian roulette with our club
No, the rules were brought in to maintain the monopoly of the “big six” scum finished eighth, hundreds of millions in debt because of the Glazier family but don’t have to sell anyone whereas villa (I’m no fan) finished 4th but have to sell players to meet PSR rules. It’s why I hope Man City win, we could then walk this division and have the finances to go for top six
Yes and I recall having a conversation with you about it early last season when it was announced that the fat Kev appeal had gone south and the impact it had on us financially. It was when you first announced that you preferred to be in this league. My take was that it was important to the future of the club that we go up immediately to afford the transfer money owed and improve the stadium for the next generation of fans. Now we are a Championship club with Premier League bills to pay, about £80 million a year less in tv money and a financial noose tightening around our necks. We are now in **** or bust territory regarding promotion this season and probably with a worse squad. Selling Gray will seem a pretty easy concession in comparison to next summer if we fail to go up. It will be a fire sale this time next year.
To be fair I don’t think I said preferred, I have said I’ve enjoyed being in this league. I have also just admitted that reality bites when Brentford can take you better players. But my original point is that we have wealthy owners and if they were allowed to invest their money, which the “league” prevents them from doing, then we wouldn’t have to sell Archie, Summerville etc. unless we wanted to.
My stance hasn’t changed. Our financial blunders were made while making up numbers in pl. last season was miles out most enjoyable of last three. It’s just too easy for fans to blame rules when the real fault lies elsewhere
Possible Scenario - We know what players we want to bring in, our hands are tied due to FFP. Those players we want are attracting interest from rivals and we can’t wait much longer or risk losing them. No offers of substance for anyone else, agreeing the sale of Archie means we can make a move. Possible Scenario 2: Archie thinks Farke is a diabolical coach who will stagnate his progress playing him at RB so he’s asked for a move. Possible Scenario 3: Farke has sat down with the board and said cash in on Archie he’s not going to improve much and I’d prefer to keep Summerville and XYZ To be honest, if his name wasn’t Gray everyone would shout great business. He was okay last season, never MOM or a game changer, he probably wouldn’t be next year either so if it means cashing in, bringing in players who might make a bigger impact and earn us promotion, great. £40m based entirely on what he “might” become is good business considering our position. We also need to remember we’re not going to undo the financial damage caused by Orta in just one season
****ing Yankee **** bags. This is down to them trying to cash in on the club with Cresswell going to France and Summerville and Gnonto will be soon out that door but hell we can look forward a few signing round the £2 to £5 million mark. ****ing get an Arab in charge of this club
