I doubt it would have made any difference in the end, but when Jos won the toss, he clearly got influenced by what was above him rather than what was below him. There's a reason why Rohit said he'd have batted first anyway. I wouldn't say that we bowled badly. But to only use two spinners (and even that was more like one and a half spinners) was clearly deficient. 170 was miles above par. I don't blame them for leaving out Hartley - to suddenly throw him into a WC SF would have been a huge call - but I do blame them for deciding to select Hartley as the back-up spinner in the first place. My guess is that was Moeen's last innings in an England shirt.
I am wondering about the cricket fixtures this year, we have had days of good weather and no matches to take an interest in, no doubt come the next group of games the weather will have changed and we will still have nothing to watch?
I have been watching (and for a while playing) cricket for seventy years, cannot recall such a shambolic mess like this.
All they needed was 30 from 30, but they got nowhere near. The "c" word is going to get mentioned again, South Africa.
Disagree . They played India who are immense ATM . IMHO No team could have beaten India today . And what a fantastic game for the final
