As a supporter there's no real choice otherwise there'd be no one go to watch Hartlepool ... ... if you're 'looking for a return on your investment' you're not a football supporter imo. Expecting things to run smoothly, in any football club, is idiocy ... ... Leicester won the PL title and were subsequently relegated, now they have FFP issues. Nuff said.
He was on ignore as 'Exile' but was banned and now back, with a different name, repeating the same drivel people ignored him for.
Do you really believe anyone cares whether you 'support' the club or not ... ... your only involvement, with the club, seems to be on this forum. The forum went along nicely, when you were banned as Exile, and would carry on fine if you never posted again imo. You're not simply commenting on negative aspects, you're inventing some that don't even exist.
Football is obviously tribal, as much as some don't like to think about it that way, if you consider a member of the tribe being almost permanently blackpilled (pessimistic), they'd likely be exiled from it or removed from influence as not to infect others. It's better to be inherently positive/supportive from an evolutionary point of view, even if that is misguided at times.
Yep I think that’s the only person I have on ignore. Talks the club down at every opportunity. Strange sort of supporter.
Of course it's misguided, we sing that we're the greatest team the world has even seen That's not the point though, as you know, there has to be a suspension of disbelief otherwise we wouldn't have gone down to London in 1973. And we owe it to the people around us to have some joy and optimism otherwise every game would be dreary. When you're on the train down to Plymouth you owe it, imo, to other supporters to be in good spirits, be optimistic and make the most of the weekend. Constantly whining about every f*cking thing would find you travelling alone pretty quickly ... ... then finding yourself on a chat forum trying to find someone who'd respond to you
You're hitting on something prudent here, not to move off football because there are other threads for those things, but to love something isn't to hate something else, also to love what is yours (Sunderland AFC in this example) doesn't mean you're ignoring the bad things that have happened in the past. People who are eternally blackpilled on here need to shamed out of their behaviour tbh, because we are by far the greatest team the world has ever seen.
The forum seems to be a lot friendlier when you're not advertising how much better a supporter than anyone else you are and provoking fights with anyone who doesn't think exactly as you do. So maybe take your own advice and allow the rest of us to discuss our opinions without piling in. Scroll on by, it's not a challenge to a duel.
Or perhaps you simply should look at the amount of people who 'liked' my initial response to you, listed below. 26 'liked' my response to Bob, seems friendly enough tbh. You'll ignore that because it doesn't suit your sad little anti-SAFC agenda. Anyway, the football's on. fer fooks sake... the club (owners) have made mistakes as well as the good start they had, imho i feel they have pretty much averaged it out. the 'long wait' to get a new coach was expected as they gave dodds to the end of the season, i presume, to save another hasty hire like beale...a few names were mentioned, one or two may even have had an interview while others were suggested as 'probables' but never got a sniff. the new lad is here, a successful kit launch has been and gone, the pitch has been relaid, safe standing has been added to the stadium, the whole merchandise side has had a facelift, mistakes admitted to and the owners have basically said that they are putting whatever they can into this season. can we all not just start looking forward to this season and try to feckin enjoy it, i very much doubt it will be plain sailing and i think there might even be a couple more mistakes along the way... none of us know how much time we have left and i am buggered if i am going to spend mine whining on like a little girl in misery, enjoy the good times as there will be less of them in life than sh1t times.
Spot on. Great being in a happy place isn’t it? Great loving your club. Great to look forward to the season.
It's like your family. Do they annoy you sometimes? do they fück up sometimes? Yes, but it's your family and you love them. That's why we're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen and it's why for father's day my dad gets a card that says "Greatest Dad in the World" on it.
