I've gone for the shorts. My Mam's visiting at the end of this week so she's been tasked with purchase and delivery.
Class that like! I go between there is no place for sentimentality and truth is Gooch was the weakest link when we beat them in January, then I think **** it he is SAFC through and through and should have been a one club man!
I like this picture with Gooch the bairns sign in the background.. https://x.com/peverley26/status/1806670603568521555?s=12
mate of mine seen him in the garage along grangetown not long before he went to Stoke, he was stood behind Gooch in the queue, Gooch turned around and smiled at my mate, but he couldn't quite place him, one of thoes "I recognise you", and at the time we were playing ****e, so it was a mix of my mate not quite recognising him, not smiling back at him and us playing ****e,Gooch put his head down and avoided eye contact walking out thinking he was going to have a go at him,he genuinely wasn't. it was only afterwards when he seen the car and the plate he realised. The fact my pal is a fellow 6'3", and 18 stone didn't help I think. Gooch is in tune with the place, understands it. He has these flash cars but he uses local garages for work and MOTs. Absolute quality lad and there's an argument that he should still be here.
More home shirts are on the way "soon" https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...s-after-new-home-kit-sells-out-online-4683587
I don't think he'd get much of a sniff with Hume and Pembele ahead of him...but it does make me feel a bit emotional to see how connected he still is to the club. Hopefully there's an off the pitch role for him in the future, characters like him and Luke are worth holding onto.
I was gutted at the time and it's worse when you see now he is gone that this is genuinely his club. I understand the club not being sentimental about it.
Think he has fulfilled his potential and that's as a lower/mid table championship player. Love the lad but think the right call was made for all parties.
I’m not so sure, I think it was certainly the right move for Gooch at the time but he would have played plenty last season as things were in my opinion and from a club perspective that level of dedication and loyalty is rare and invaluable.
They all love the long sleeve version. One thing I will say (and this is by no means a criticism of the players) is that they are coming in and rating that on how it looks (I know so does everyone but bear with me). From what I've seen it looks class at first glance and easily a solid 8 or 9 but then as a fan you get other little nods to the club and the city that some of the players might miss! That sounds a bit condescending to the players but I hope people get what I mean. Those little extras are there for the fans. The banks of the wear and the ship in the stripes etc...
