Does anyone have any idea of how many members they have and how many have applied in the last week or so? Would be good to see an increase in support!
Not sure of total figure but check our meeting minutes on the website for that. It's usually minuted. We had at least 50 new members join the other night but I'm not sure exactly how many it got to in the end.
please log in to view this image Peter Fleming– @EastHullPete Message in from @HullCityST ...we have passed 1,000 members and are heading towards 1,100. If you care about the club join us. 5:46 am - 7 Aug 2016
The current number is 1093. That's an increase of 250-300 in recent weeks. Many of those are people renewing expiring or expired memberships.
Probably the wrong thread so feel free to move this… What’s going on with the Supporter’ Trust? As a member how do these people know that the Board is ‘detached from the wishes of the membership’ if no one has asked me? (I quite like a bit of antagonism…but who is antagonising who here?) Can I bring red card and tennis balls again?
“The personality driven board” is that a certain young lady brought in to up the presence on social media?
I've been a member of HCST, not even sure if I still am, as I was a member of Tigers 2000 etc but I hope they can continue. Everytime Hull City have hit an existential crisis a protest group as risen from the support and fought for the club's survival, in more stable times these fans groups then shrink back, but they have been vital to our club during our many ups and downs for the last 45 years in various guises with many excellent members coming and going. Best wishes to HCST in continuing to uphold our traditional independent supporters voice, you never know when we may need you again.
Always easier to attract members and support when there's something to fight for, much harder in times of peace.
FFS That’s a bit DIY You used to be able to lazily get everything answered efficiently on here. Bloody Thatcher…
Sounds like a few teddies have been exiting their prams in recent times. Some different faces appear to be incoming.
The young lady I think you're talking about was on the board years ago but quit a few months later to focus on other stuff and hasn't been involved for years now. Can't imagine this has anything to do with her. I'm not very close to HCST these days but I've been aware of a few directors having disagreements in recent years which I think have led to resignations on previous occasions too.
Directors are supposed to have disagreements, that’s how good decisions are made. It becomes an unhealthy, inefficient Board otherwise. If people can’t deal with people disagreeing with them then they shouldn’t be on any Board.
I suppose disagreements was the wrong word. I'm trying not to say too much because I've only heard one-sided representations and I don't think it's for me to put things in public that seem to have remained private up to now, but I think there have been personality clashes that people involved have felt were impossible to continue working with.
I'm a life member, and the emails are infrequent but at the same time what is the current purpose or agenda for the HCST? As someone has said, things get more active when trouble arises, like the Allams. So I suppose when things are going relatively swimmingly then people disengage.
Bound to I’m a lifer too. I’ve always seen it like a union. Not needed if things are fine and well managed, but you join one and become a member to keep the union strong in case you need it later on.
Yes the Trust will, and should, remain relatively dormant in good times for the club. But it should also retain its independence from the club in readiness for when the **** hits the fan. Thats written into the Trust’s constitution (or used to be).
