Some reports that Brighton have joined the race to sign Minteh and are vying with Everton. Should at least help to keep the price up if he does go.

I still don't like the idea of him going to a PL rival though. We all know how Newcastle fare against former players.

Brighton might be the only team in the PL that don’t have any FFP issues.

 

If this deal goes through it’s proof that we need the money.

 

Our commercial team need a kick up the arse. They have had all this year to get more sponsorship deals in and seem to have done very little. I want a NUFC official tractor supplier etc. Get your fingers out and get the sponsorships flowing

 

Way I look at it.

1) Club constantly say they don't have as much money as the press make out so they don't get quoted and charged exuberant fee's. By playing along with the press story they can say "look how close we came to breaching PSR" for the entire window, or let teams think they have.

2) They flog Minteh, who let's face it did alright in what....the 8th best league in Europe? Because it sure as **** isn't as strong as PL, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, Turkish? For a ridiculous profit that then arms them with the ability to go amortise another £150m transfer spend (amortised) on top of what they save on Trippier £5m, Burn £5m, Miggy £4m, Wilson £4m, Krafth £1m which comes in at £95m (amortised) In addition to Adidas money £200m (amortised).

Plus our usual £100m+ summer spend would leave us with a transfer pot of over £500m this summer and they sure as **** won't want that being made public knowledge whilst negotiating deals

 

Every deal we seem to do has to go through some ****e PL process which is taking months.

 

Newcastle have to sell someone and nobody wants the **** players on high wages.

I’m not sure. These transfers would go through in 2024/2025 season where we have significant sponsorship deals and a bit of deadwood off the books.

I just read that. While I like Anderson, he seems more of a 10 to me, which we don't play with, so could be a decent deal if it gets PSR off our backs
