Good Morning. It's Friday 28th June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds table €15m offer for Columbian star Leeds have tabled a €15m (£12.7m) offer for Columbian star John Arias according to the various reports in the media. The 26yo applies his trade in Brazil for Fluminense, who sit bottom of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. Despite their lowly position, Arias has gained a lot of attention, especially from English clubs. West Ham, Burnley, Wolves and Crystal Palace have all been linked with the versatile winger / attacking midfielder. He's naturally a right footed player but is equally as comfortable cutting on from the left. He's similar in stature to Wilfred Gnonto. Standing 5ft 5', his low centre of gravity allows great balance whilst running with the ball, or weaving in and out of players. He's also not shy in front of goal! If Leeds have indeed made a bold €15m offer, who's leaving? Summerville, Gnonto and Gray have all been linked with moves away from Elland Road, but very little has been publicised by way of actual offers. Speculation is growing that clubs may wait until the last minute knowing Leeds have to sell probably two out of the three, and force a reduced price to be accepted! please log in to view this image Perkins signs for Orient Sonny Perkins will see out the final year of his contact back at Leyton Orient, after agreeing a season-long loan with the League One outfit! The 20yo joined the Whites after refusing to sign West Ham's contract, having been tapped up by Victor Orta. Perkins, like so many others, failed to push on, rarely even making the first team squad. With one year left on his his contract, it's fair to say, this will be the last we see of him! please log in to view this image Shackleton to sign for Blades Jamie Shackleton is set to sign for Sheffield Utd in the next few days, according to transfer journalist Pete O'Rourke. Sheffield United have money problems, and will start next season on -2 points after an independent EFL disciplinary commission found them guilty of defaulting on a number of payments to other clubs for players bought during their 2022-23 promotion season. Bringing Shackleton to Bramall Lane on a free transfer makes perfect sense. He can operate in many different positions, he's cheap and doesn't mind sitting on the bench. Shackleton leaves Elland Road after 18 years at the club, having joined the Academy aged just 6. I'm sure we all wish him well! please log in to view this image
I do not give a damn about Shakleton or Gnonto. In fact the club should cash in now on Gnonto. Not sure i believe the price being quoted for the columbian but never mind we can always offload to Bournemouth if he's another sick note.
Morning all. Shackleton gone wahaay. Now lets give away the rest of our collection of sick notes and not spend yet another season making excuses for them
Second rate players robbing a living. Some want rid of piroe because he only scored 14 goals i despair at times.
Didn’t we offer him a new contract? Some said it was to get compensation as he was an academy player but not sure why we would if he is out of contract? Anyway good luck to him, he never really nailed down a place in the first team. So Perkins and Shackleton gone, do you think Gelhardt will also be offloaded?
Wonder if Rob Price got to see the list of sicknotes that were leaving, & decided to jump ship as he'd be bored senseless with nowt to do?
That was Drameh. Shackleton is 24, so we cannot get any compensation for him when he leaves. As to why the club offered him a contract, then its probably the same as Cooper, who knows ? You can only get compensation for players aged 23 or under, who leave at the end of their contract, providing of course that you have offered them a contract of at least equal terms to their previous contract, hence the offer of a new contract to Drameh
Afternoon all I thought we’d offered Shackleton a contract, can only assume it was a low ball one as we were not bothered if he stayed or not
Makes you wonder: what if? https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/foo...&cvid=407fa1e60e784bbfb2ca6bc56a0df447&ei=221
If buts and maybes but you need to remember that squad was run ragged and the fact we had to put a 15 year old in the match day squad didn't help his situation. Yes I was thankful that he got us back in to the Premiership but he had a lot of faults as well.
Hi everyone When all is going well in the beginning, he and the team looks brilliant, however when things go wrong ie injuries, players running out of steam, well we all know how he deals with that, or rather not deal with it.
Can’t ever say a bad word about the guy. Think he was quoted as saying he can get 3 seasons out of a squad, then he needs to start again. Hardly his fault we couldn’t upgrade and was hit by lengthening injuries. Frankly he brought the best out of a fairly average set of players. Produced football I’ve rarely seen in 60 yrs of watching the team. He was a standard bearer for everything I like about the game. I stopped worrying about conceding goals because I always thought we’d score. Yes we got hammered a time or two - but I’d have him back in a heartbeat.
Always annoys me how we bailed on him the first sign of a difficult situation. He had already told the owners that players had a limited lifespan and they wouldn’t be able to match what they achieved in the first season back up. Radz & Orta didn’t listen and then fired him after failing to support his footballing view of the squad.
