Not going too well so far is it, a couple of weeks into the window we see Sonny Perkins sent to L1 on loan which makes 12 players out of the door so far plus Harrison, Plus Shackelton so 14 gone already. Aaronson maybe staying which is obviously going to be our biggest signing. Still got Cresswell and Joffy to leave along with Greenwood and maybe Meslier too which takes the numbers out of the door to 18. If you thought last summer was busy and how many of you said this summer would be well organised……. Gnonto and Summerville would be 20 out and a very much weaker team/squad, plus we need a whole new defence and the players are back in a few days. Guaranteed promotion anyone? I’m hoping after tomorrow’s PsR deadline passes we can start to use the list of players Steinsson and Co have put together, surely there is one. If there is a list things should start moving by Monday and that will include Kristensen, Wober, Llorente plans and money coming in from proper sales so that they fall into the new PSR year. Shytshow or cunning plan?
Stop being such a drama queen, so far you’ve named two players that could be considered first team regulars, there’s ins and outs every season whatever division you are in. We don’t even know who we might sign yet.
Depends how you look at it doesn't it? Allow me to play devil's advocate for a moment. Sonny Perkins is ****e. Harrison doesn't want to be here so saving on his PL wages helps finances. Shackleton is injury prone and even when fit is only just scraping in to a match day squad. Aaronson put on weight since Christmas and finished the season much much better for Union Berlin. Championship is a step down for him and playing in a dominant team suits him better. Joffy and Greenwood won't ever play in our 1st team as regulars. Both will bring in funds for FFP next summer. Cresswell should bring in a fee around £3 million - £5 million with add ons. He also won't play for us in the next couple of seasons if he stays so that's a mutual parting. Meslier hasn't progressed in to the world beater we thought but should bring in a solid profit. There are better, more experienced keepers out there for much much less money. Gnonto the rat still wants to leave so take the profit. Summerville wants to stay and will only leave if the club needs funds or a stupidly high offer comes in. We hold the aces on this one. Our most consistent player last season was Ampadu (a Farke signing). Gruev was instrumental in our form after Christmas (a Farke signing). Piroe scored 14 goals and never looked settled. This will be his 2nd season and he might just flourish. Kamara was solid as a rock for the most part (a Farke signing). Rodon was the best loan signing since Ben White. (Farke signing). Hopefully we have another glut of succesful signings from Farke this summer. We would be a much stronger squad if we hit a similar success rate whilst keeping the finances under control.
When I saw the headline of "Premier League legend tipped to take over on short notice" I thought OMG they are going to appoint Fat Frank
I hate this sort of clickbait. So who's "backed England to sack Gareth Southgate" then? Richard bloody Keys that's who. Remember him?
