I agree, he is somewhat of a 'confidence player' I recall him having couple nearly misses early on in the season, if they went in who knows it could have lifted him and turned out to be a slightly better season for him.

I do have high hopes for him, whether here or somewhere else

I think that what you've seen is Steven Gerrard, who I believe had a similar problem (as has been previously discussed from many years ago). The same type and quality of player would be canny :emoticon-0148-yes:

Didn’t Lorient have one of the worst records for defending and attacking set pieces last season?

Either that Toure isn’t utilising his size or Lorient take corners as bad as we do!

Yeah watched him for france u19s - sure he played with Ba in that team

He was ok, good on the ball but positionally a bit all over the place. He was massive compared too his opponents in the games i watched but he hasnt learned how to use his body effectively yet

If i remember right he was slow on the turn as well, so forwards were able to get away from him in the box

Havent seen him play fro a couple yrs tho so unsure how hes developed

Expect a signing (maybe two) through the door next week.

Nope. All I know is that transfer targets were discussed as part of the final negations with RLB. Which is a good thing as there’s not going to be a major hold up on transfers.

However, just like last couple of seasons I think we won’t be overpaying for anyone even if that means negotiations take a bit longer.

Also, I heard Hemir and most likely Mayenda will both be loaned out. Time will tell I guess …

I don’t see either of them making it here personally …

I keep seeing posts mentioning ‘so and so’ player is ‘out of our range’ or ‘too expensive for us’ comments.

What do you think is the most we would pay for a player..would we pay £10 million, 8 or 5 or what?

For example, if we got offered a prolific striker, someone like Shankland or whoever, would we pay the going rate or do we have a ceiling we will not go over. If so, how much is that ceiling.

What is ‘our range’, the maximum we would pay?

Yep. My hunch is we’ll target the free agents first before they get snapped up. Someone was at the AOL negotiating when Moore signed and has been back since. Set to meet with RLB next week ..

I think we'd stretch to £7m for the absolute perfect signing, we quibbled for ages over Rusyn and landed on a fee of around £3m which means getting the right deal is important to us.

Someone like Amad we might go to £7m for, basically nobody else. So don't expect to see it.

Depends on sales. I think we would possibly go to 5-6 if the deal offered outstanding value for money, without sales. But that's based on nothing more than a hunch.

Really hope it’s one or both of Browne and Norwood.

I've said it more than once on here but I'd be shocked if it was Browne considering he turned down a bumper deal from Preston, likely more than double what we pay our highest earner, but if it's true that would be a real sign of intent.

I was hoping browne and miller as our next 2 signings

Takes the pressure off trying to replace Clarke when/if he goes

Everyone knows I'm a big fan of Browne, just feel hes the exact CM weve missed last 2 yrs. Hes good on the ball, chips in with goals, good at breaking up play and covers every blade of grass.

Wouldnt be against Norwood as hes a tidy footballer, just think you have to play 2 CMs alongside him to get the best out if him

Easier for people to blame the new lads than accept that the fan favourites were piss poor at times

Roberts was consistently piss poor but not sure who else would come in that bracket.
