Two years probably won't make that big a difference The best part tho was I was expecting the increase to be on the rate when I could have first claimed it but it was on the rate when I did retire so was even better
Jovan Nwusu Nepaul, the labour candidate for Clacton once described "white man's tears" as "his favourite drink". Now how is that any less worse than the ****e we hear from Farage against blacks or muslims? What's the point of fighting one scummy racist **** with another. The absolute fcking state of this GE.
There are ****e hawks from all backgrounds But this is particularly ridiculous. 'People of Clacton... which type of racist would you prefer ?'
I don’t think there’s any equivalence between one comment the bloke made on social media as a young man five years ago and years of peddling mis/disinformation to prey on the prejudices of vast swathes of people who for some reason hang on your every word.
I agree. If it was a one off social media thing and the guy publicly apologises for the comment, I say let bygones be bygones. Has he?
He raised his fist and shouted “**** the king” while ****ting on Churchill’s grave which I’ve accepted as an apology.
Nah bollox. It's nothing to do with equivalence it's standards in public office. If a white person made a one off comment like that about black ppl there'd be uproar. It shows something about his character so fck him.
Agreed. While its not as egregious as a long laden history of controversies, like say with Farage, its repugnant and racist nonetheless and he should be called out on it.
Think you’ve been reeled in there mate. Didn’t he just like a tweet with those words, a few years ago when he was at uni?
No he commented on someone else talking about “white tears” as “his favourite drink”. Yes it’s not good. But the question was whether it was better/worse than what Farage has come out with down the years and I don’t think it’s vaguely comparable. With social media it will follow him for the rest of his career in politics or not, rightly or wrongly. Same for the Rochdale Labour bod. I think there has to be a tiny bit of leeway given to something said by a young person on Facebook just as some people at that age have some pretty bad right wing views but grow out of it.
Like I said, in my view, if he apologises, and makes clear he no longer holds those views, then all should be forgiven. Its no less than what would be required of a white person who had made similar comments about people of colour.
When did people become quite so sensitive ffs? Now apparently some Labour councillor has resigned, because Keir Starmer mentioned Bangladesh in a less than flattering context.
Will have to watch the Trump vs Biden debate tonight. Genuinely hate each other, makes it interesting.
Farage now going after the anti-vax vote just in case any of those fruitloops weren’t on board already.
