So, while he misses his wider family, he and his immediate family (wife Brogan and 2 young daughters, yet to reach school age) feel settled here and well looked after. Rangers' player payroll for last season would put them 4th in the Championship in that respect, with Leicester, Southampton and Leeds (i.e. the recipients of 1st year parachute payments), the only sides above them. As it is, we are currently 4th, so they would knock us down one place. Of course, we are trying to cut our wage bill, but Kenny has another year on his current contract, plus the club have an option for a further year, i.e. to June 2026. So he isn't going to be subject to the latest round of cost-cutting measures. Any idea that Rangers would be offering him a vastly better deal than he is currently on is, IMO, almost certainly wide of the mark. I can understand that being a big attraction to younger players (it was mentioned as such when Cantwell moved to Rangers for example), but for a seasoned 32 year-old who already represents his country at international level, I'm sceptical about how much of a draw that would be. But then, I keep being told I've got everything wrong about Kenny, so maybe he will, after all, be off!
Osijek play in the Croatian NL, finishing 4th out of 10 last season. Dinamo Zagreb are the league's perennial champions and the only club well-known to people here (apart from maybe Rijeka, where Drmić resurrected his career after leaving Norwich). I guess it's a step up from Premier League 2 for the Brazilian youngster, but it would be interesting to know whether we didn't rate him, or he didn't rate us.

He'd be an acceptable replacement for Long (although then we'd have to move Long on), or if Ruddy had a coaching/3rd GK role so we could loan out a youngster that would be nice. He's not exactly a ball-playing GK though, if that's what we think Thorup's after.
