HE doesn't like Putin as a man and what he is doing in the Ukraine.....but he does acknowledge how he has got Russia organized.....and he sees how Putin as turned the war in the Ukraine to his advantage by saying that the west have provoked what has happened by advancing east by bringing the borders of the EU nearer to Russia with their support of the Ukraine joining the EU one day....plus the advance of NATO into 100's of miles of extra contact with the Russian border. Not qiute the same as being a Putin buddy.....but that is what people hear....not the actual facts......the usual war of misinformation goes on.
Rubbish. Hitler had the Germans organised. Was that a good thing? Trump admires Putin (he’s said the same sort of things) and believes he can carve up world affairs without reference to those irritating minor countries around the world. This would be done solely by reference to what’s in America’s interests (or rather Trump’s) ignoring the likes of European sovereignty. worldwide human rights, the environment, democracy, freedom of speech and religion and a whole host of other things we should hold dear. Trump presumably has some homoerotic fantasy of himself astride a stallion alongside Putin carving up the world to suit themselves . Where Trump follows, his rent-boys Johnson and Farage follow like lambs to the slaughter And Truss - is there a clear pattern of extreme right wing nutters fluttering around Trump (and thereby Putin) like moths round a flame or is there not? Anyone who can’t see it and votes for either of those two clowns should have their polling cards taken away from them as hazards to humanity. I was watching a documentary about the last few months of WW2. The Red Army was sweeping through Eastern Europe, raping and murdering 100’s of thousands of civilians as they went. The Western allies were desperate to get to Berlin before the Russians so that the war could be declared over before the Russians passed that point alone and tore on into Western Europe. We know that Putin encourages Russians to idolise the murderous Red Army of the Great Patriotic War and dreams of recreating Stalin’s USSR. He who does not learn from history is doomed to repeat it. Anyone who votes for Reform is firstly an idiot, secondly a racist and thirdly a fascist.
Hitler found fertile ground in defeated Germany in the 1920's.....so commentators have suggested... the victors screwed Germany so hard to the ground after the war ...causing so much poverty and incredible inflation....that even Hitler looked like the saviour they needed.....a little help and compassion might have spiked the seeds of hope that Hitler brought and maybe he would not of had the response to his agenda that he got......maybe WW2 could have been avoided.....maybe not.
Can Reform get any worse? Plymouth Reform candidate using Star Trek looks to launch campaign https://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/ne...-uk-candidate-launches-9360660?utm_source=app Nothing this weird has been seen since Haight Ashbury and the Kool Aid Acid Test.
What is the world coming to.....we'll have Screaming Lord Sutch and the Monster Raving Loony Party putting in an official complaint about infringement of territory.
At the 2023 Vilnius Summit....allies reaffirmed their commitment that Ukraine will become a member of NATO. This means that NATO would extend its direct border with Russia by another 1,426 miles....if you add Russia friendly Belrus's 674 mile border with the Ukraine as well....that makes a grand total 2,100 extra miles of anti soviet border. This just helps Putin sell his special military actions in the Ukraine to the Russian people....whose only official source of news is the Kremlin. Nigel Farage had been warning the EU for 30 years that war in the Ukraine would be inevitable if pressure was continued on Russia's western border was "threatened" by the west moving their influence further east.....and now we have the result of that.....this makes Putin feel more justified in his actions and it helps him sell it to his eastern friends.......China...India...N Korea...and of course Iran. Putin declaring war on the west and the Ukraine cannot be justified.....Putin longs for the return of the USSR and all of its satellite states and the Ukraine was the biggest jewel in that crown.
Can you find any actual quotes of Farage saying that? He is a liar you know. Ones that were his usual anti-EU bullshit won’t do. Does it not strike you as being telling that when they are threatened they run towards the security of the EU and NATO? Ukraine is a sovereign state and it and its borders are recognised by the United Nations. It’s therefore free to ally with whoever it wants. Surely history tells us that aggressors need to be faced down early before they gather confidence and strength . The appeasement iof Hitler that took place before WW2 has long been viewed as a stain on the reputation of Britain and France. Ultimately,it send millions to the gas chambers and caused thousands of casualties in our forces and civilian population.
I agree that aggressors need to be faced down early....but unfortunately the USA are the only opponents with the clout to do that. The EU has literally no clout at all...it is a group of countries..... is it 26 or 27 I can't be bothered to count how many.....dominated by Germany and France....there is no obvious leadership....each country does its own thing.....Vladimir Putin knows this a literally disregards' the EU as a united power.....each supports the War in the Ukraine to different levels....at least one of them cuddles up to Putin...(an enemy within the camp ?) so no united military base.....yet a Federal power is what they talk about....yes its all just talk talk talk and Putin does war war war. Farage of course is No1 marmite to most people.....I know that I'll get shouted at...but he does talk sense at times....and then he talks Donald Trump at times that just makes me groan....I have no bother accepting that we have opposite opinions on lots of things and I can go along with that....at the end of the day we all support Argyle....some close at hand some as exiles friom a distance....but to talk of other things as well is healthy.....it can be done without trashing each others thoughts. I haven't got the know how..... how to go through years of what Farage has been critical about.... first the trading community that we joined and then the ogre that is now called the EU.....with a billion rules and regulations that makes red tape look just off white.actually.
In partnership lies security and prosperity. The susceptible has lies told to them that led them to vote for Brexit . Perhaps the ones who should be blamed for that are the Remainers who failed to make the case to stay, self-evident as it was. So perhaps we can forgive those who have their votes to Farage once but with the crystal clear evidence how damaging Brexit was now reality, you’d have to be an utter moron or a racist to vote for him twice.
I’ll just remind you specifically of something I told you before Brexit. Large business investment decisions work over a timescale of decades. If you have a large factory in the UK, you can’t just pack it up and move it. But the time will come when you need to invest big sums in it just to keep it going. At that point, you have the option to relocate. Damage due to Brexit is nowhere near to over. It’s the gift that goes on taking. For decades.
This story confirms a bit of what I've always suspected: that the alleged supply of non-confomant PEP during Covid at great cost to the Exchequer was not as simple as we've been led to believe. This lot WAS correctly manufactured but nevertheless is being burnt at a time when ever-so-conveniently, it's not possible for anyone to comment due to the election. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cll476qzm85o What happened here? Was it a panic stricken over-ordering when nobody knew how bad pandemic would be? Was too much of the wrong stuff ordered? Or was it initially rejected by some jobsworth because of some trifling error (e.g. stitching not in the right coloured thread) when in fact the items were perfectly safe to use? We should be told at some point.
Problem is those morons still exist and will no doubt vote for this clown. i know i would not and never voted for Brexit .. The man is crazy.. Nigel Ferral
More on the unused PPE: it was purchased but there was nowhere to store it properly on delivery. Unused PPE worth £1.4bn 'stored inappropriately' https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cl55lp79dzno
A British battery company has developed an electric car that can be charged in minutes......in a step towards solving the lengthy plug-in times that frustrate EV drivers. Cambridge-based Nyobolt today unveiled the prototype vehicle...which has a 150 mile range. The company said it was in talks with eight carmakers about using its battery in high-performance vehicles and added that mass manufacturing could enable its use in larger, family cars. At a test event yesterday...a battery was charged from 10% to 80% in less than five minutes.....at least twice the speed of the fastest-charging vehicles on the market...according to Nyobolt. Lengthy charging times ...even at the fastest stations...are often seen as an obstacle to sales...especially among those who cannot charge at home. It takes 15 minutes to charge a Tesla Model 3 to around 80% at the fastest speeds....but many vehicles take much longer. Prolonged plug-in times also lead to long queues at charging bays...which fuels "range anxiety" among EV drivers who fear being stranded ...Nyobolt's battery...developed using research by the University of Cambridge...utilises carbon and metal oxide in the anode...the part of the battery that releases electrons to a circuit that powers the car. This allows it to be charged at higher speeds without risking degradation or fire. Previous...batteries charged at higher voltage produces a lot of heat....which can damage them and set them on fire....so their charging rate is restricted. Nyobolt said its "low impedance" batteries are less susceptible to this and could survive 4,000 fast-charge cycles. Daily Telegraph...Friday 28/06/2024. Is this a "Eureka" moment for EV sales....imagine inventing something likes this...and being able to protect it with a patent for 50 years.....good bye work ...hello beach.
Not quite eureka I'm afraid. The problem of range anxiety will persist until charging stations are as commonplace as petrol station are now. That requires not only the creation of "forecourts" but large scale investment in the electricity grid needed to supply them. That extension of the grid on the demand side is in addition to the vast extension needed on the supply side to draw energy from a huge number of small green energy generation sites. There's no point running an EV on electricity from "dirty" gas power stations. This is not a trivial matter: running out of juice in an electric vehicle is not the same as a petrol or diesel one. There's no gearbox or clutch in an EV to disconnect the wheels from the motor so you can't push it as the motor is then trying to be a generator with a huge resistance. Where it stops, it stays. That also means a conventional tow-truck can't be used. You can't drag the car up a ramp onto the recovery vehicle because the driving wheels are locked solid : you need one that can physically lift the thing up.
I hadn't thought of all that to be honest.....not owning an EV....and probably never will.....in fact the newest car I've ever owned was a two year old Honda Civic.
I didn’t until I read a piece in the Sunday Times. One of their columnists had a Jaguar iPace SUV. They loved the car for local running but had an anxious time when they went touring in North Wales I think. They lived up a country lane somewhere and it expired in the lane - I can’t remember if it ran out of charge or broke down. Either way, not only were they stranded but they’d blocked the road for their neighbours. The other small problem is that they don’t freewheel. So if you breakdown in the fast lane, you can’t drift onto the hard shoulder. Mind you, having recently taking my car (an automatic) through a pull-through car wash, I’ve only just realised I’d have to put it into neutral to free-wheel. There’s no clutch to drop so left in drive, so if the engine died , the torque converter would I presume act as a brake. Any sudden breakdown in the fast lane is a scary scenario which only happened to me once when the belt driving the power steering broke at 80+ mph in the fast lane of the M1 heading toward London at 8am. It was like steering a super-tanker but I was able to get off into the services which were only a mile or so away. Not an experience I’d like to repeat…..
PS The car I have now has electric steering. There’s no steering column, no physical connection. It’s great to drive: light and yet resistant: feels beautiful, Having just written the above though, how does that work if something fails……?
