Taylor is pretty uninspiring but if we want to add 6 or 7 new players we need to accept not all of them are going to exciting names. If a solid free agent crops up that ticks a few boxes (PL experience, used to possession football and an upgrade on Manning) then it absolutely makes sense for us. Especially if it leaves a bigger budget for the likes of Downes and a new striker.
Delle Ali on a free if we get to keep KWP? The two are training together apparently. Would be as much of a risk as Lallana.
I'd be happy to take a punt. He was so good when he was good. Also, mainly, I'd sign all of KWP' friends if it meant keeping him!
I feel like it's been 5 or 6 years since he was any good. If he wants to reignite his career he should probably step down a league or two. He's been best mates with KWP for years and yet they haven't been club mates since early 2020. I'm pretty sure KWP will leave to advance his career, and where his best mate is will have no impact on that.
Well this is borningly sensible. Allow us at least a day or two to imagine a re-ignited Delle Alli and a KWP fresh off a new contract in a slow-mo high five celebration as they crown an impressive demolition of Man Utd at St Mary's. Please.
Being linked to lots of fringe Liverpool players so far. Kelleher, Morton, Carvalho and now Sepp Van Den Berg a centre back who allegedly is going to cost about £15m. Interest from Wolfsburg and Italy as well supposedly. What’s that 4 centre backs we are linked with now? Obviously not going to sign all of (or any of) them but seems a bit of an indicator that we are definitely after that position
We currently have Bednarek, THB, Stephens and ABK. Question is, is one of them leaving and so the CB rumours are for a replacement. Or are we bringing in a 5th CB because we are likely to play 3 CBs a lot more regularly in the PL.
