This is ex England related. Rooneys hair tonight? Burgundy??

Tomorrow basically the same 11 v Serbia/Denmark, except for Gallagher in for TAA. Runs around a lot. Excellent at getting booked. Six minutes on the pitch before a booking against Denmark. Six minutes!!

Gallagher will not be worse than Trent Alexander Arnold, the bloke sadly looked like he needed a A-Z in midfield.

There is nothing I want more for our national team then to win a major trophy.
I don’t rate Southgate at all - but I admit he’s far from being the worst England manager we’ve had. There have been a few woeful individuals in the dugout over the years.
I sincerely hope we come good.

    That's as maybe.

But never ever has an England manager had the huge pool of talent that bloody Southgate enjoys.

    Almost agree RP.
I think Ericsson had the strongest squad in the Korean World Cup. We should have won that one.

I'm not watching it and haven't for years, not World Cup or the Euros.
It's always the same before a big tournament, England are made one of the favourites and always fail to delivery

The only difference with them and City is we’re never one of the favourites for success <laugh>

Your missing out. Waiting for an England game feels like waiting outside the teacher's room for detention. Triffic.

    I can't believe Southgate.
We got better, because he played better players ie Mainoo and Palmer.
I said before a ball was kicked he should pick Mainoo, he's a proper midfielder. Some called for Trent, ffs he's a full back that can 'play'.
Midfield is a different world, why the f*** doesn't Southgate get it.
    He's utterly useless.

I’ve witnessed England play 3 games that have all felt like defeats - and yet we’re 2 points clear top of our group and qualified as ‘champions’.
    Amazing.

England were playing with four defenders and two players at cdm against a Slovenia that stopped attacking after twenty minutes. After sixty minutes Slovenia barely came across the half way line.

Slovenia are ranked lower than Scotland. Their keeper barely made a save.

Right its time to let the Mainoo loose and our tactical genius Garf S has been hiding him so his sudden appearance will baffle the oppo when this England player appears that doesnt go backwards like a robot.

The real competition starts now. Right now.

    Its Mainoo time!!

I keep trying to convince myself that it’s all GS genius - saving his players from over-exhaustion by not running, boring the opposition, plus fans and pundits to near death, and fooling the entire footballing world we are ****e, then the master plan is to suddenly unleash a hailstorm of goals against Holland, Germany and/or anyone else we face on our journey now we’ve reached the knockout stages……….

    …….. or maybe we’re just ****e… :(

My theory is we have a Quota of goals we are going to score, the fewer we score in the early stages the more we’ll score in the knockout, well that’s my theory anyway.

………………. or as you said maybe we’re just not very good.

Its a cunning plan and has to be to convince europe we are **** then bang turn into the total football monster in white. I think the plan needs some more cunning. Southgate in the past had special waistcoats that deflected the blame away from being boring as **** to everybody talking about the waistcoats. Southgate isnt trying hard enough. Rooneys still doing his bit dying his hair weird and turning up fat looking like Henry the eighth. Garf has to do more here

Thank goodness I was at Wembley when England won it all in 1966, but that was then and this is now and the reality really bites. The pathetic attempts to revive that national spirit and pride in our footballing heritage has made me quite sick and fed up with the knowledge that we are now essentially no-hopers in a world where the rules have been thrown out of the window and the Three Lions have become a laughing stock. We have to have the best pool of players ever available for selection and managers ad infinitum have failed to get a single ounce of national pride from anyone and talking us up to be the favourites is starting to numb my mind. Perhaps a major miracle is about to happen but constantly crossing the centre line and going backwards seems to be a total waste of time and energy when all that momentum is lost by passing back to our goalie who regularly acts like a clown with his decisions. The biggest problem for me is that we haven't played any so called decent squads yet but they are waiting in the wings to inflict more embarrassment a la Iceland mode. I am not even sure if I want them to win this tournament and those words coming from someone who was there on the big day all those centuries ago is a damnation on all of the fruitless attempts to re-establish England as a team that deserves respect. When I witness al of these recently formed nations playing their hearts out for their flag whilst the pathetic performances from the new breed of English players continue to anger the supporters it makes me ask why the hell don't our guys go out there with the same mental attitude? In my books the answer lies somewhere between greed and pompous attitudes and regrettably I don't see that changing during this tournament and the end of the world as we know it - sad but true because the ability to have a positive attitude when you put on your English shirt has long since disappeared from the landscape. Shame on them unless they confound us all by waking up to the fact that if you want to win it just showing up will never get the job done.
