Imagine if Stanley Matthews had been told the same at 34 and retired as a result - the next 16 years of his career would never have happened. I doubt Sissoko would be signed as a permanent starter though. If he does sign, I can't see it being for a lengthy contract, and he would be a sparingly used back up player. Or he may surprise everyone and go the whole distance.
