For those who might fancy watching a few games, here is the page with all the fixtures etc: Groups | Copa America CONMEBOL
When we had red shorts in the GT days We won promotion to the top flight, finished 2nd in the top flight, reached an FA cup final and put five goals past Man U, Chelsea and Spurs AND did the double over Arsenal 4 times
Fixtures out tomorrow. We will know the games on Sky up till Christmas apparently before the season starts . https://www.efl.com/how-to-watch/sky-sports-q-and-a
Not bad - enough to buy a striker. https://footballeconomyv2.blogspot.com/2024/06/watford-raise-37m-from-fans.html
Checked and they wanted 17.5 million squid to be raised. SO that's say 20 something percent ATM, of the total they wanted. Shows what a weasely scam it was. EDIT: and how some people can be so dumb.
The striker 'target' is way lower though... https://therealefl.co.uk/2024/06/25/watford-aiming-to-boost-attacking-options/
Those figures are only from one platform though. That said, I doubt they've raised much more than 5m so far across all the platforms they marketed on. (Don't ask me what they all are, I don't know/can't remember)
Early days I suppose, but that could be a testing August for us - by the end of it we could know how our season is going to pan out.
12:30 kick off on the opening day and Within seven days of the 2024/25 Fixture Release selections shall be made in respect of all matches to be played before the end of September. Before the start of the season, selections shall be made in respect of all matches scheduled to be played prior to the end of the third round of the FA Cup (January 2024).”
I think that the Seedrs platform shows money which has already been invested (£3,786,500) if I correctly understood the article by Andrew French in the Watford Observer. The other platform for American investors is Republic and it shows the money which has been pledged ($6,566,922) rather than yet invested. I might have been prepared to invest a small amount and to accept that I would probably lose it if I knew how the money was going to be used. The club promises that some money will be used for strengthening the squad, but no actual percentage is given so it could be very little. Where will the rest of the money go? How many of the best players will be sold this summer? Kone is on the verge of signing for Marseilles. Why were the agents' fees so high last season (only more was paid in the Championship by the three relegated clubs from the Premier League)? How closely is Mogi Bayat now involved with the club? Is Scott Duxbury still receiving such a high salary when Watford have been struggling financially? Will Gino Pozzo put more emphasis on paying off the debts (including possibly to himself) and on profitable player trading rather than on improving the quality of the squad? I stopped buying merchandise from the club and paying for Hive Live after the sale of Cucho Hernandez to Columbus Crew and the dismissal of Rob Edwards because I became disillusioned with the leadership of the club, but continue to support Watford and closely follow the results.
