So say Everton bought a player for £30m on a 3 year contract and also sold a player for £30m. Very simplistic but it works something like this. In their accounts it would show as: Revenue 23/24: £30m Cost 23/24: £10m 24/25 £10m 25/26: £10m So the 2 transactions essentially give Everton £20m profit in this year.
Yep, and the reason it is youth / academy players that are moving is they count as pure profit on the books. i.e there is no outstanding debt on a previous transfer fee to be paid off.
Does that mean that if a club is a part of the multi-club model, they could sell youngsters to the other clubs in their group in the same manner? So could Saints sell kids to Goztepe and Valenciennes as a way to keep beyond FFP?
I think the rules are tighter where multi-club models are involved. But I don't recall the specifics. They have to be really or, as you say, we could sell a youth team player to Goztepe for £60m every year.
Yeah, exactly that. UEFA put a block on Nice selling Jean-Clair Todibo to Manchester United because of the Jim Ratcliffe ownership situations.
About £3m apparently. Better than nothing which is what has happened with a few of our failed transfers of late.
Seville isn’t it? Might want to delay actually moving there is he can get away with it. August there will be…intense
Farewell Romain, at least you tried and fought in that dismal relegation season. A moderately bright light in a dark season.
Would’ve liked to keep him around, but who knows what happens behind the scenes. Lot of talk about players wanting out last year and maybe could only get loans instead of perm moves, and now the club just want to move on from them regardless. Left back definitely an area we need a player now
Classy till the very end Romain. I appreciated him in a saints kit, sad to see him go. Betis got a good signing.
