Seems that we produce lots of good young keepers through the academy. Isn’t Richardson highly rated aswell?
“Sunderland are flying in top Australian keeper prospect Robert Cook for talks next month. “Cook, 17, is rated the best young shot stopper Down Under and can move immediately as he carries a British passport. please log in to view this image
Could be taking young/richardsons spot in the squad whilst they go out and play men’s football! Not against these kind of signings at all
The current first squad is still looking bloated, who needs to go? Goalkeepers Anthony Patterson Nathan Bishop Simon Moore Defenders Dan Ballard Luke O'Nien Trai Hume Dennis Cirkin Aji Alese Jenson Seelt Niall Huggins Tim Pembele Leo Hjelde Nectar Triantis Joe Anderson Midfielders Jack Clarke Pat Roberts Dan Neil Pierre Ekwah Jobe Bellingham Abdoullah Ba Adil Aouchiche Romaine Mundle Chris Rigg Jay Matete Jewison Bennette Elliot Embleton Strikers Luis Hemir Naz Rusyn Eliezer Mayenda
Bishop, Anderson, Matete and Embleton sold Triantis, Bennette, Hemir and Mayenda out on loan after pre season. Especially keen to see Triantis in pre season. Maybe Hjelde also out on loan depending on Alese/Cirkin fitness and bringing in another CB. All of these are dependent on if they can stake a claim to remain at the club though. Take away Seelt and Huggins because of long term injury as well Wouldn't be against selling Roberts but I doubt we'll get many acceptable bids
I think we need the widely accepted CDM, two CF’s, a Clarke replacement if he goes and possibly a top notch centre half.
I’d imagine Bishop, Anderson, Matete and Embleton will be sold. Sure there were rumours that Rusyn was unsettled and wanted away. Benette, Mayenda and Hemir on loan (possibly Triantis aswell). In that case we would need a CB, CDM and two strikers minimum who can make an impact straight away. That’s before potentially losing any of our big players e.g. Clarke. Going to be a big summer ahead and potentially a challenging one to ensure we have what we need to compete for playoffs.
I’d agree but we didn’t see much at all from either player. It’s a shame Mayenda hardly kicked a ball for Hibs in his loan spell
I swear Chelsea are just us with a seemingly endless budget. Buying up promising youth players all over the shop without much thought for a playing philosophy or team dynamics. Really hope they have a ****ing horrible season.
I reckon the big clubs will be circling around Dennis Man after the Euros. He’s been outstanding. Seiwald could see an elite club move in for him, he’s the heartbeat of a very good Austrian team.
I think we could see a fair coming and goings this summer, some real question marks over many of those players, I'm guessing the gaffer will want to give everyone a chance during pre-season first.

Eliezer Mayenda - DROP TO U21s
Some interesting thoughts on who people would keep, worth noting both Stewart and Wyke had tough starts at Sunderland as Strikers but then went on to be top scorer, I think a clean slate for all the lads up top will be good RLB will have some knowledge of Mayenda (assumption) Hemir's attributes may suit the new style of play Rusyn will be more settled now and get a proper pre season - didnt get one last year and came from a war torn country where his family were left over there but by all accounts are all settle here
