Well they’re all getting closer but the end result is still the same.

George should've defended the middle of the track there

Ok, lets hope form continues and the McLaren comes alive after a few laps.

Not sure it would have made much difference. Flipping DRS.

Max totally did him. The moment he went to cover the inside, Max just straightened up and blew around the outside.

He was closing at a ridiculous rate though, because DRS is ****.

That was a great bit of wheel to wheel racing there.

I think that slow pit has cost him the chance.

Frustratingly it really feels like Mclaren should be winning these races, but it keeps not quite happening. 7 seconds on the same tyres is surely impossible to close down now.

Credit to Max and Red Bull i guess. Even when they're not decisively quickest, they're operationally perfect.

They aren't the same tyre though, 1 is much older than the other.

Wasn't it two laps earlier for Max, but pitting onto a fresh set vs used for Norris? I doubt there's much in it.

Probably not, but defending in the middle makes it awkward for the overtaking car whichever side they choose to attack, cramp them on the inside or the outside, rather than give them so much room.

I still feel like Hamiltons soft tyre will fall off and George will get 3rd position back

Makes you wonder why Russell and Sainz both went on to the hards?

I suspect it's a team decision to do something different in the hope it got them a couple of points more than they'd get, it hasn't, but it hasn't hurt the teams either.

But it's hurt George within the team in not getting on the podium.

It's alright Karun Chandok saying Max is almost a pit stop ahead of George, but Max and Lando are on Softs and George is on the hards and that pace wise is a big offset
