Just a little message for 'summaz'.

I offered Sima a bet that he said he'd take and promised he'd pay up if he lost.

I didn't believe him, as he would regularly vanish for months, and I wanted the money put into an escrow account along with my own £500. As he was a sad Mag it would mean nothing, to him, if he wasn't able to post ... he now doesn't post.

He claimed he didn't know what an escrow was and wouldn't place his money.

I asked if he'd place a £500 bet and post the slip as would I, he refused and I said I'd find another way.

Eventually, on the Friday evening before the match in question, Prehab, who I didn't know and still don't, offered to allow his bank account to be used as he was impartial and trusted at the time. I immediately agreed. This was around 8pm. I gave Sima until midnight to accept. This was because I had internet banking on my computer but not on my phone, this was many years ago. I was due to leave home for the train to our Norwich match at the crack of dawn so would be drinking from early on.

Sima didn't respond until the following day and claimed he'd fallen asleep, on his sofa, in the evening and hadn't seen Prehab's offer. By this time I was already on my way to Norwich which he obviously knew and that I couldn't now arrange a bank transfer.

As it happened I had a lucky escape because I would've lost the bet <laugh>

Look back on RTG using 'escrow' as a search and it's all there ... take it easy and keep posting all your fascinating views, great info and sharp wit.

I’ve give up with the thread on here entirely, it’s like talking to 9 year olds.

I always felt the balance would shift on RTG.

When I first went on it was a joy to post and also to read, lots of actual debate but plenty of daft humour and information. Little by little the gang of joyless trolls chipped away at the decent posters and kept up a relentless barrage of in jokes and internet clichés ...

... and bit by bit the decent posters lose the will to keep trying to bring the threads back round to actual debate. They know it's pointless bringing a troll to task because his clique will all pile in and swamp any discussion.

The 'new manager' thread because as pointless as those threads that list Japanese railway stations or 'count to a million'. Just loads of volume without any meaning or original humour. I've honestly no idea what people get out of it, the world seems to have become just a little more bitter and nasty since Covid.

I come on here for a chat and a bit of fun, some seem enraged about everything all the time.

There’s a thread on there at the moment. Police Porkies. I have an interest in it as it’s to do with my old force. Having read it, it’s a very sad indictment of some of the forum members however as it was started by a forum member who has previous for anti police posts it doesn’t surprise me.

Love that Smug lad, but you've missed the one when you've had a few, you need a Rooch moment... when you are allowed to have a poor go at trying to wind people up. <cheers>

I've noticed that all the weirdos come out to post in the small hours, I dread to think what other websites you're trawling through, I bet you dread having to take your laptop to be repaired <laugh>

Anyway, run back to RTG and find that thread where Becs accepts I wasn't bullying her. After that I also met up with the RAWA rep, at an away match, after I'd sorted a ticket for him. And I was chatting to Becs in the Museum at our last home game so that's you put back in your box.

There's a few who seem permanently wound up ...

... I've noticed whenever Sunderland remove a reason for them to moan they're straight onto the forums having a tantrum <laugh>

It's as if they're not really interested in the club at all, very weird.
