Thank **** no one on here as anything to do with NUFC finances and recruitment, we will get what we deserve, no more or less. Of course EH will recruit who he wants, it’s his job on the line!!!!
I'd still take everything with a grain of salt. Its amazing how these stories break when there's nothing exciting happening in the Euro's.
Newcastle are not bullshitting or trying to be clever they're just being honest about psr issues this summer. It's cool..less games so things will be fine this season. Seriously the club is literally telling people and because the people they're telling don't want to believe it, they formulate an idea that it's a trick to keep prices down and roll with it For goodness sake prices are prices.
I'm only seeing a few expressing concern at the names being linked. Thing is, for me, it's far too early to start worrying at present as we're all waiting for the new financial year to come into play. The press don't help things by reporting any old tripe as fact as often as they do. Now I'm not saying the club aren't interested in certain players that have been linked in the past few months, but I have been suspicious of a few in recent months regarding the integrity of some reports. By that I mean I'm wondering weather agents use the press/influencers/reporters to increase value of their clients and their wages and in return pay these press/influencers/reporters "bonuses". Everyone has their favoured journalists and reporters, but when they start getting things wrong time after time again, you have to start asking if they're at it? Luke Edward for example was wrong about the takeover, wrong about the CAT case, wrong about the management appointment and wrong about the feasibility study to name a few. As for the players being linked, I find it amusing more than anything when I'm seeing people criticise the players that are being linked as **** without taking a moment to comprehend the bigger picture. From what I believe the club did express an interest in Mamardashvili, and it wasn't so much they wouldn't pay the fee that was the issue, it was that Mamardashvili wanted assurances he would be number 1 and the club wouldn't do this. That's an understandable point of view from all concerned. They're going to find this issue constantly, therefor go for a younger player (Trafford) to learn as an understudy makes sense. I think we'll have the same issue in the striker department, A proven goalscorer like an Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, Ollie Watkins, Dusan Vlahovic level player is not going to go to a club that can't assure them of regular first team football, without being a historical, serial trophy winning side. For this reason you need to be looking at a level or 2 down from the proven goalscoring strikers. Which means either a young raw talent or a player that's proved previously he can do it (DCL). I mentioned in a previous post, we seemed to have interest in Olise, the wages were always going to be an issue with both Chelsea and Bayern in the running. For a player with 1 good season behind him, you'd have several other players who have performed equally well or better than him, rightfully asking why they're being paid way less money? Some have an issue as to why Hall didn't start last season? Simple answer is he wasn't good enough positionally. It's amazing how the lads that actually attend the matches even several times a season have never questioned this? I'm not talking about just me, Hung and Trev here. I'm taking about the likes of Toonboy, Tash, Schlem, Fadge, Chippy etc. I keep seeing people question why Minteh isn't being given a chance? And people asking what the hell the scouting team are playing at? Well, let's just say I'm pretty sure the scouting team, Shola (Yes I know) and Howe will have been monitoring a young player out on loan, far more than some random teenager that's caught the eye by accident in one or two Danish/Swedish/Turkish league games. And if Shola thinks someone isn't good enough then I'm pretty damn sure we can all take that as gospel the kid isn't ready. FWIW the amount of times I had Dutch fans sitting next to me in the ground second half of last season, and when asked said he was a million miles away from being ready for the PL (Most of them were Feyenoord fans). Yes the kid has blistering pace, yes the kid scored goals, but the amount of times he makes the wrong decision is infuriating. Often trying the impossible rather than laying a ball off to someone with a tap in available.....was they're view on him. If it was the week before the transfer deadline I could understand some disgruntlement but not when we're not even into July. Quite frankly I just want to watch, read and talk football. I'm personally sick to death of accountancy talk.
Let’s talk football then. Minteh stats last season v Miggy and Murphy added together. Add DCL and I still think Minteh wins. Interesting that is.
Would like to keep him.... sadly this manager will do absolutely anything to keep other players at the club.
Don't agree on Hall because he didn't go from being worse than Burn and dummett to what he is in two months running around cones listening to Howe or during a half time team talk. The truth is he should have been in after one or two games of Burns collapse because he always was a superior left back all around, but Howe ploughed ahead week after week month after month while Burn got rinsed... it's not like Burn was even doing OK.. he was dreadful going fwd and defending... Newcastle were leaking goals anyway. It's not even the case Howe brought Hall in when he thought he was ready.. he brought him in when injures forced his hand completely and we suddenly started getting results.. West Ham home was when it changed when injuries and having already made subs Howe finally had to play Hall. The truth is managers can be wrong and Howes reluctance to drop Burn at left back was costly.. it wasn't even fair on Burn who did well at cb. Howe just didn't want to drop Burn at LB and he wasn't going to either.
Minteh agreeing terms with a club is crazy. First player in quite a while that shows great potential and we’re getting of. If it’s for psr reasons surely there’s other players to bin off first.
I agree but I guess it's a combination of a few things. 1. PSR has the club in a situation where it has to sell. 2. Minteh is almost pure profit 3. Nobody wants to buy Longstaff for a meaningful amount 4.Howe doesn't want to sell Longstaff anyway
We signed one guy so far, for free? I've made a conscious decision to not follow it all as 90% of news is complete horse ****.
