With regards to these pitch invaders..... from the pictures you can see it looks like a not insignificant portion of the security stewards are facing and watching the match rather than the supporters.

I thought that too. Ridiculous for it to happen so many times after the initial one.

Belgium looking so much better than in the first game.

Edit: great game! Both teams really committed, attacking and playing with loads of energy. End to end stuff

Why are people from Holland or the Netherlands called Dutch?

Why do we say Greece rather than Hellas?

The word Dutch comes from a Proto-Germanic word meaning “of the people.” It shares a root with the German word Deutsch, which has led to some confusing names. The name Germans call Germany, for example, is Deutschland and the people there Deutsch. Dutch and German are related, after all, both being Germanic languages.

It goes back to the Middle Ages, when the national boundaries were not tidily drawn and Dutch was seen as a kind of Low German ("low" because of the area's low elevation — that's also what the nether in Netherlands means)

Sets this group nicely for the final round of games.

Been a great game. But Belgium, for all their attacking quality, won't be winning the Euros with Faes and Vertonghen at CB.

If the group stage finished like this, I believe the L16 would read:

    Spain v Slovakia
    Germany v Denmark

    Portugal v Slovenia
    France v Romania

    Belgium v Albania
    Netherlands v Turkey

    England v Austria
    Switzerland v Italy

However, my guess is that it will instead look something like:

    Spain v Ukraine
    Germany v Denmark

    Portugal v Hungary
    Netherlands v Romania

    Belgium v Austria
    France v Turkey

    England v Czech Republic
    Switzerland v Italy

The two sides guaranteed to finish in the above slots are Spain and Portugal.

Not even close, that would have been an excellent goal in the right net, never mind his own, perfect strike.

That looked bad. Hungary player was out cold and they haven’t shown replays.

The lack of urgency in some of the medical staff was astonishing.

Yeah, when Eriksen collapsed there was complete urgency from everyone to get him medical help.
