Seems like a good fit and the more I read the more I think he could be canny here. Seems good tactically, good with youth and intelligent. Canny. Ha'way!
Right, I've had a little lunchtime drink, so I'm going to say this before my natural reserve comes back or this will low key antagonise me for all eternity. It's spelt Lorient; no apostrophes, no double L. The cheese is spelt "Brie", Reg's surname means something else.
Not really, because achievements and failures at other clubs are irrelevant because the situations are different. Bayern for example look at how Kompany wants to play and can see how that would translate to their team and their aspirations. We are probably looking at the players that have developed under Le Bris and think that will work well here. We shouldn't take much from him being relegated, just like we shouldn't take much from him finishing 10th.
I’ve had a look into their stats from the 22/23 season, they defo over-performed. Around 15-18th out of 20 teams on things like Possession, xG, xA SCa/90 all of that bollocks but interestingly they had the least amount of completed long balls and 2nd only just to PSG for attempted long balls. Obviously goals against xG, shot conversion rate etc were brilliant.
If he is allowed a say in transfers and can bring in some of his own guys it may be less of a gamble. The term we have learnt from our past mistakes needs to be shown if he is hired instead of following same problems as before
Surely that was Ranieri ... ... sacked by Greece after losing to the Faroe Islands and filled in at Leicester
I did not want Mowbray but it turned out well mostly. I wanted Moyes and Coleman and that went very wrong on both accounts, the new man will be backed by the fans until/if he messes up. we need some stability, it cant always be down to the manager, he does not choose the squad and for every gem we have have had, we have had 2 or 3 duds under Speakman. I know its a gamble with young players but the lack of striker is unforgivable for 2 seasons is unforgivable..
How so? Support and expectation are completely different things. For example, if we sold our entire first team and decided we were going to play the U21s for the season, I'd be absolutely sure we would get relegated. I'd still get behind the kids 100%. Similar thing with the manager situation, this is a horrible appointment imo and consigns us to a season of mediocrity at best. I'll still support the team completely and hope for the best, though.
From some perspectives, this could look like a disappointing appointment. I think, though, that it could actually be the first time that we'll have appointed someone who is suited to working the way KLD wants the club to work.
Underwhelming appointment but if that’s who’s got the job then we need to all get behind him and back him! Will he have anyone at Lorient who we might bring in??
Both Speakman and Dodds were instrumental in the development of Jude Bellingham, Jack Butland and Demarai Gray. While Dodds seems interested in going up the coaching ladder, Kristjaan has moved to secure a Sporting Director/DOF role. I think he's aiming to be a Michael Edwards at Liverpool type, right up in there buying and selling very expensive players. Here's an article, put out to deny rumours he'd recieved a large lump sum as part of Bellingham's move from Birmingham to Borussia Dortmund: https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...fer-claims-strongly-denied-by-sources-3183653 I'm sure he didn't benefit in this case, but a top football executive would be right up there with the big money.
ok entering dumb question city here, and apologies if this has already been covered - As this is a 10 game rolling average, does that graphic show that virtually every team played against was better? So all tough games. Is this both the did well season and the relegation season together?
