Regi Le Bris Just watched this if anyone interested.. some of it is interesting including towards the end, he talks about his style (If you can get past his Geordie accent)
We’ve been watching him from afar for years is my guess, I don’t think even speakman has the brass neck to claim he was the 1st choice
That they want to keep them as part of the coaching set up is pretty clear and isn’t really up for debate. Wanting to keep them at the expense of everything else including getting head coaches that the same people have said the owner desperately wanted is what I find more questionable. It’s not proof of anything as there’s far too many other variables at play and no evidence that wanting to keep them on the coaching team has cost us any head coach appointments to date.
I’d be more inclined to believe him around the sticking to the vision piece if the head coach appointments were easy fits with our vision for our playing approach and the squad he has overseen. I spoke to him at an event after the league 1 promotion and I enjoyed the discussion and was supportive of what he was saying about approach, vision and interestingly he talked about the ideal of coaches being easy fits with our approach/vision/squad. personally I don’t think he has delivered on that and has been pretty scattergun, he has also overseen a largely positive position of young players in the English game to a largely poor position of young players from abroad I’m not against the approach he originally set out but I’m losing faith lost faith in his ability to execute it successfully.
it was a good read….he’ll need a proper holding midfielder, clear from that write up that it is fundamental to his style of play
He won’t say number 1 choice but I’d expect there’ll be something along the lines of always admiring him or such like. What do you want him to say bearing in mind the bloke being appointed, the players and the wider footballing community will also be reading it and that it needs to try and garner some support for the new head coach?
Happy to get behind the Le Bris if it is him, but if it does go all ends up then KS position would surely become untenable.
Completely agree. I don't really see much of an overarching football philosophy at this point. Buying young with a high ceiling is only half the job and I'd like to see him show he understands the task at hand quickly... or leave.
Honestly I don’t think they will. It feels like the fans will be on a constant witch hunt ever since the Beale situation
https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/nice-reach-agreement-with-lorient-manager-regis-le-bris/ nice wanted Le Bris last summer, he was also linked with Leeds before they got Farke so he can’t be all bad. Well thought of in France supposedly.
