    Few things.

trippier is a pointless player at Lb. Can’t attack so why bother having him there? Might as well play Gomez as a better defender or just stick Walker there and tell him not to move and just form a back 3.

If going to play TAA in midfield, you have to play Gordon/watkins/Saka with movement up top so he can play balls to them. Otherwise don’t bother. He’s no use in there so just give up on it and play Wharton there.

Walker - the manager has said he wants us to play free attacking football.

in that case, why the **** are none of you listening to him.

BBC - No player created more chances (3) or played more line-breaking passes in the final third (5) for England against Denmark than Trent Alexander-Arnold, despite him being subbed off in the 54th minute.

Looked to me like he was told he'd be off and was running about trying to make an impression second half. Didn't even give the hour.

The state of rice being pressed out of it by Eriksen.

    The state of kane

    The state of tripper.

But the only story will be why not mainoo. What not Wharton.

It's not even put in gallagher who is the only player Southgate will put on <laugh>

Sums it up nicely. TAA won’t run around like a lunatic. He’ll stand there and if players make runs he’s pick them out.

Problem is he doesn’t have a diaz/robertson standing left wing offering width - instead foden is playing cm and trippier is standing next to guehi on half way line.

Doesnt have Nunez running behind even if he’s offside, but has Kane standing there short.

Saka is only one he’s managed to play in a couple of times across these 2 games.

and don’t get me wrong, Trent has been poor but that’s 50% tactics rather than him being a poor player

The thing is this is no different to any other Southgate **** show.

They score, they shut down and sit off. That's coming from the manager.

    But look at the table.

If the Serbs beat Slovakia (our worse case) then thry are still behind us on 3.

Denmark can't catch us now if we simply beat Slovakia so we can easily win this group.

That's Southgate ball. Turgid football against bang average teams and then going for pens in thr knockouts until we meet a decent side who puts us out.

Nothing different here bar the players care even less.

Top two go through with the four best third place winners. I haven’t checked all the groups but from what I’m reading, it’s not a certainty for England (obviously this is based on them losing to Slovenia).

They'll get through, but that's the problem - even modest success with rubbish football just encourages you to dish up more of the same. This is a tournament for the top players in Europe - it ought to be entertainment from beginning to end, not a dull grind.

It was a terrible performance. Players just strolling around, no attempt to pass and move just pass and stand still. No one trying to make a run in behind or between lines. No one attempting to take a man on.

Trippier at LB means there's no attack on that side at all, so the oppo can just concentrate on our right.

Passing was sloppy, always behind the player, meaning they have to check back and no chance to take it on or pop it off for a 1-2.

No pattern to the play, no pressing and no plan seemingly.

Southgate is saying the poor performances is because he’s experimenting due to not having a natural successor to Kalvin Phillips. Says everything about Southgate. The fact that Kalvin Phillips was average says it all.
