Steve Cooper is officially our new manager.

Personally. not my 1st choice, but I am willing to give him my full support.

I think we will be relegated this season, due to our impending points deduction, and I think he would have a decent chance of getting us back up.

    Thoughts?

They made this appointment with next season in mind. Like you say the points deduction is going to make it hard for us to stay up. If the inevitable happens, then he’s a decent candidate to get us back up again. If he keeps us up then great, bet he’s got a decent survival clause in his contract.

Going to be an interesting season, my expectations are through the floor at the minute, but they were this time last year so who knows.

My cynical side is saying that this is the cheapest option rather than the best option.

I hope we never entertain bringing in Potter as a manager in the future, hes rejected us 3 times now, has no interest in any fight.

Cooper seems to be getting some praise inbetween the "Championship confirmed" messages, seems his run at Forest was fairly respected so hopefully he can give it a good go.

Happy enough to give the bloke a chance ... did alright at Swansea and Forest and won the U17 World Cup with England - and we'll need somebody who is able to spot and develop young players ...

Agreed not first choice but Im not as downcast as some. He comes free so the Meresca money comes off the bill and so may lower the points deduction. Come July when we can start looking bringing players in will be an interesting time. I think we will be better than the other promoted sides and Brentford, Forest and Wolves dont currently look spectacular.

I had no preconceived idea on our next man. Cooper did do well enough with forest, considering their bonkers owners randomly signing 25 players a week.
I'm willing to give him a fair chance. And wish him the best of luck because he's going to need it!
