This was an issue when Short was covering our losses, Donald came in and just didn't have the money. Martin Bain April 2018 "Ellis does not have any desire to put the club into administration. Ellis funds the club’s losses, I have spoken to him and he has assured me that he will continue to do so. He has told me that he will not put the club into administration."
Did I say Short? This was after the PO final and the 2 seasons after that… We were so close to going under because of Stuart Donald and Salmon pants.
Well he'd have been replaced in February then? Speakman goes in Feb / March with a replacement coming in May. Makes no sense to keep him on as a sitting duck
Yes I know, Short could cover the losses ... ... Donald needed promotion to get himself out of the mess he'd created.
If he was being sacked perhaps, I don’t think that’s going to happen. It’s just possible that there’s been a “ you should explore any good opportunities that come your way” conversation though that makes clear we’d be happy to let him go with thanks. To be honest I think that’s doubtful and the truth is probably that he’s seen has having done a good job overall with two massive questions over striker and coach recruitment.
Odd that he'd be so involved in recruiting the next Head Coach if he's as good as gone, though I suppose he still has a job to do.
We're led to believe that Head Coach candidates are turning us down because of the restrictions imposed on them by Speakman. If Speakman was really on the way out, and it was really all down to KLD now, Speakman wouldn't be a problem. And he wouldn't be commenting on outgoings like Bass. I just think its wishful thinking by many that he's going. (I'm one of them massively)
