Sunderland is racist central, mate. The BNP were very big there. Tommy Robinson still shows up now and again, too.
Could have been either. I know Britain First were having rallies in Sunderland. Not sure about at the stadium, though.
One of Sunak’s protection coppers has been arrested for misconduct after betting on the timing of the election.
Was just thinking about you as I hadn't seen you, thought hope Trebs aint locked out with this site update. But I thought he'll find a way to let me know.
I listened to Sunak with Ferrari on the radio this morning. Ppl called in to ask him questions directly and basically tell him he's full of ****. Starmer had it yesterday. What was confirmed to me is the bloke just doesn't listen to anyone. I read a couple of weeks ago (after the D Day debacle) that members of the cabinet and his campaign team had said the same. He doesn't listen and just rambles on. And that's what he did from the moment they turned his mic on. First caller "What are you going to do to being waiting lists down?" Answer "We have a plan, we're going to bring down taxes, labour are going to put up taxes, they're going to steal your pensions. I care very much about this country and I don't want that happen. I have a plan so let's stick to the plan..." Next question "What will you do for young people? Answer "We have a plan, we're going to bring down taxes, labour are going to put up taxes, they're going to steal your pensions. I care very much about this country and I don't want that happen. I have a plan so let's stick to the plan..." Next question "What are you going to do about Martyn' Law?" Answer "We have a plan, we're going to bring down taxes, labour are going to put up taxes, they're going to steal your pensions. I care very much about this country and I don't want that happen. I have a plan so let's stick to the plan..." He is SO bad at this.
Long day today so just come on now. I was logged out which never happens. Then I clocked you'd said the site would be down and logged back in.
Honestly it was awful. The worst thing was he just talked and talked and talked without saying anything new. Ferrari tried to shut him up a few times to get other questions in but he just carried on like a constipated foghorn.
If people expect significant improvements within 5 years they will be disappointed . It took 6/7 years the last time Labour where in to see results . I can't see them getting a big majority after this election and it would take 2 or three terms to do so . You've only got to look at America to see how hard it is to make significant inroads . You don't get longer than 8 years there and as soon as Trump got in he scrapped the healthcare bill straight away
None of the main political parties has yet set out convincing plans on how they will improve the NHS, a leading health think tank says. The Health Foundation said on current spending projections there appeared to be a £38bn-a-year shortfall in England in what would be needed by the end of the next Parliament. The think tank said that would put plans such as tackling the NHS backlog, improving GP care and redeveloping hospitals at risk. Neither Labour nor the Conservatives have said how much they will invest in the NHS, while the Liberal Democrats' pledge is well short of what the Health Foundation says is needed. These were the only three parties the think tank looked at for its analysis.
Tbph my only expectation of Labour is seeing improvements no matter how small. My concern with your comment is you believing they will not get the time required ie a second term.... So what's the point of me even voting Labour if they are not going to achieve anything in the first term and are unlikely to get a majority in the second to keep a clear path of what they want to achieve. We're just going round in circles. There's only one asnwer to this... please log in to view this image
I think the Greens are the only one I've seen that seem to take a full on approach to the NHS, not that I know what all this equates to in real terms, and I don't even like them... https://greenparty.org.uk/2024/06/0...g-investment-to-nurse-the-nhs-back-to-health/ Taken together they are part of a cast-iron Green guarantee to a fully funded fully public National Health Service. Green MPs will continue to fight the privatisation of the NHS at every stage – a commitment no other party is making.
