He was found guilty of one count of indecent assault after a retrial. Was there any one who presented Top of the Pops who wasn't?
I hope Greaves goes to a steady prem team. If not I hope he gets a reasonable relegation release clause in his contract. Hopefully the club don't undervalue him like I think a few on here are. He's a fantastic player with a great attitude and a good head on his shoulders who will only improve with age.
How do you know what "his coaching staff" thought? Have you spoken to them or have they spoken out publicly? Genuine question. As per earlier post, I doubt very much it's all about Acuns personal view but far more likely the consensus view of his 'brains trust' group that includes the analysts etc. Allsop was Rosenior's man and he maybe felt / had loyalty towards him.; maybe beyond what was rational.
Erm. You called out Ernie for speculating on what "his coaching staff" thought and then made a speculation of you own
Does anybody know if Pandur is good enough ? I assumed the new manager would be bringing in a keeper who he knows and thinks will fit his style of play
Allsop was beaten at his near post away to Cardiff, their commentator summed it up quite well, 'Allsop's Achilles heel'. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
All the talk of Allsop being **** & conceding bad goals, yes, everyone remembers those bad goals that “should” have been saved, but he also had good games where he made good saves. He can’t be all bad if we finished 7th. There’s also the fact that Rosie wanted us to play out from the back, how many times did Seri or a defender, pass the ball in our box & lose it, causing a shot or a goal? What Acun did, talking about Allsop was wrong, his PR is great most of the time, but someone needs to tell him when to shut up & think before he speaks. Old man Allam was doing ok until he opened his mouth one day when he was pissed off over a decision, seems that people should really think how they’re going to say something, before saying it. Hopefully Acun learns from this mistake & doesn’t double down with worse things, or we could be in trouble.
If Pandur was better than Allsop we'd have played him. This is speculation on my part of course, but speculation based on the bleedin' obvious.
Sorry if this has been posted before but can't see anything. Hull City goalkeeper Ryan Allsop sold to League One outfit Birmingham City - after controversial comments from Tigers owner Acun Ilicali (msn.com) https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/foo...1&cvid=daef2f9d69a24fa987b3d5a98b2aa123&ei=70
I do also buy the notion that by the time he settled it was too late to make a change. No idea why he was dropped from the bench like. Could be that Ingram was just better during the week could be that Rosenior was stamping his authority. We will never know unless someone has an inside track.
Allsop was nowhere near as bad as some made out but we can certainly find a better balance between shot stopping and passing, not sure if that's Pandur or not. A good GK every so often makes a save that you don't expect them to make which I never once got from Allsop, here's a link to the all time great for a reminder of what that's like!!
Re Barry Richardson, I have been wondering the same. If anyone should be influeincing who should be the number one goalkeeper it should be Richarson. He would have been working with Allsop and Pandur all the time and surely must be an influential voice, if not the most influential and even more so than LR. on who should be the number one. Actually I am surprised he is still on the staff.
Erm .... hang on ...... first off I wasn't calling Ernie out; as clearly stated I was asking "a genuine question". Secondly, Ernie says "obviously", I say "maybe", yet I'm the one pulled up for (so called) speculating!! (and yes, I've seen that Ernie later clarifies that he's speculating).
He isn't 'Acun's keeper'! I'm sure Walter will play who he thinks is the best keeper available to him without any personal attachment as such. I speculate ( ) that a) Rosenior's ties to Allsop ruled his head a little bit, and possibly more importantly that b) Rosenior felt Allsop fitted better to his 'Rosieball' style, a style which many of us believe was too ponderous etc
