Was hoping for some a miracle...but no
Greg Smith had 23,000 majority (62%) of the vote
Predicted to go down to 36% of vote...and still winning easily.

It is an absolute shame ...as he really is not a good MP

I have written to him numerous times on "vanilla" topics: availability of certain drugs, covid prophylactic treatment, local bus cuts. Have I had a reply ever. Have I ****

They’ve revised the figures for Stratford upon Avon now, very similar, Tory hold despite massive collapse in their vote. But if the Labour voters go tactical for Lib Dem, and a few more die hard vote Reform, could be an upset.

We’ve got a Libertarian (right wing)/ conspiracy theory candidate running under the banner NonPol - Open Non Political Organised Leadership. Fruitcake.

We currently have no named Tory candidate, following Zahawi’s standing down.

Fairly static on the voting intentions now, though I just changed mine. No evident Farage inspired surge to Reform on here, so far.

Of course, there's no point in expressing a preference, is there? They're all the same, after all. I'm pretty confident that you've voted Tory in all of the elections since and including 2010. How would you say that's worked out?

You have absolutely no idea how I've voted since 2010.

They are all basically the same, in that they don't give a **** about you, me or doing the right thing, they have no integrity or beliefs they won't flip flop on and the majority are completely inept too.

I'm right though, aren't I? You were Brexit bonkers, so of course you voted Tory. In fact everything you post on the Politics thread reeks Tory. How do you reckon the last 14 years have worked out?

I give a huge **** about the future Col. I just don’t have much (ok any) faith in the people who are trying to lead us into it. In these circumstances I have to make a decision over whether to follow my instinct and intellect and say ‘**** this, I’m not playing’ or live in the real world (which I don’t like at all) and play the game in the incredibly faint hope that we will end up with a government which doesn’t make things actively worse than they are without any government. If whoever wins can make the lives of the worst off and most vulnerable even a tiny bit better it’s worth it, even though I am hugely cynical about the whole system.

Suggest you take a look at how satisfied European voters are with their governments post Covid, state subsidies and the energy crisis. You’ll get an idea in a few hours.

Have I spoiled your “Tory disaster over last 14 years” party? But it does need to be qualified to be worth anything.

Right wing governments in Europe to take a hold of mass and illegal immigration, and crime and justice on the Continent would be welcome.

Will not vote/spoil ballot paper a comfortable second on here. Might be first on July 4th, I reckon Labour will have to get over 50% of those who vote to beat them.

Having looked at all the manifestos the only one that is broadly in line with my thoughts is the SDP (yes they're still around). Unfortunately they don't have a candidate in Croydon West so I'll be sitting this one out. So depressing Lab/Lib/Con are so full of arseholes...
